Trump is the only Republican with any influence in the party nationwide, no Republican voter is going to give a flying crap about who is backing anybody else or who might be their surrogates campaigning on their behalf. And that goes for Trump too. They love him and may reward politicians loyal to him, but they aren't going to move votes.
