Obviously this is safe R, even with someone like Kander.

What's on my mind more with this is that Blunt really could have voted for Trump's conviction after all but didn't. He, Portman, and Shelby had nothing to lose yet chose to give Trump another pass. Maybe they're true believers?

If Greitens is nominated, and inevitably wins, it's going to be pretty awkward that he is going to be serving with the guy who indicted him. It'll also be awkward to see Josh Hawley not look as bad in comparison to somebody else.

The two will still possibly be the worst pair of Senators to serve from the same state at the same time. It will also make my opinion of Missouri descend even more into the gutter. Please, for your sake, Missouri GOP, nominate anyone else...wait no! I need to be more specific! Not Todd Akin either!

If Greitens was actually as unpopular in the wake of his sexual predation and felony charges as he seemed to be then why would he be the frontrunner? Has he had a resurgence in popularity since then?

I think it's mostly due to rock bottom expectations for Republican primary voters' preferences, which is completely justifiable.

Maybe he meant Eric Trump.

Rooting hard for Kunce but the polls have shown Valentine is probably gonna run away with it Sad

It doesn't matter. We aren't winning this even with Greitens as the GOP nominee. Maybe, just maybe in a Democratic wave year with that match-up an upset could have happened though.

That's why it's actually preferable to have Schmitt. If a Republican has to basically be the Senator-elect from getting through the primary it's better for it to be anyone but Greitens. It's a real Katie Britt-Mo Brooks situation. I'm sure he'll suck, but he spares Missouri of having the worst Senate delegation ever, unless he ends up worse than expected.

It's like in a sitcom when the main character accidentally asks two people to the prom.

Our reality is a cliched joke.

This is like the sharpie hurricane thing all over again.

People really want this human punchline to be President again?

I have to admit, it is entertaining. A small, sick part of me actually kind of missed nonsense like this.

Trump would be great as a sitcom president for this reason, just atrocious as an ACTUAL president.

I used to find him funny. Hell, I will shamefully admit that I used to watch 'The Celebrity Apprentice.' But I just can't find anything amusing about him anymore. He has ruined so much.

Embarrassing result for Billy Long. I guess the sex tape scandal really damaged his chances.

He is the last person I would ever want to see in a sex tape. The literal last. I would watch Harry Knowles in one before him.

I'm glad Greitens did terribly. From all accounts he's the worst kind of politician.

One of the few things that nearly all posters on this site seem to agree on is that Eric Greitens is pure scum. Just an unrepentant awful person that can be recognized by everyone.
