Working at Target I can tell you that we have strict limits on essential items now, panic buying has pretty much been banned. I can tell you this cause I’ve been verbally harassed and berated over the past few weeks upholding them. But guess what? Those customers can get f**ked. Done being polite.

Besides toilet paper and cleaning supplies, what are people trying to hoard?

Condoms and, weirdly, garlic powder have been pretty scarce in my area. It seriously took my days to find some damn garlic powder. I guess a lot of people anticipate cooking at home...and then having sex. With garlic breath?

You get the elected officials you deserve.

On the subject of garlic: fresh garlic, which I like to cook with, has been impossible to find for the past several weeks.  What I've heard is that most of it for sale in the US comes from China, as opposed to years ago when most of it came from the area around Gilroy, California.  I've been using a jar of minced garlic instead.

I never thought about that aspect. Interesting.

If you both have garlic breath, it doesn't have to be a big deal unless one of you make it a big deal. Neither one if you is being gross as compared to the other and it cancels out.

Can we call this sex math?

Apparently it gets worse, as always with Trump! His peddling of the drug is depriving it from people who actually need it!

Just now I tuned into a Trump press conference for the first and last time.  Some dipsh**t reporter was asking him if he had any plans to pardon the Tiger King.

13,000 Americans dead so far.

At this rate Joe Exotic will be a legitimate presidential candidate and a front-runner for the Republican nomination in 2024.

OMFG! The guy is an absolute retard.

How does a well-known germaphobe not know this!? You don't need to be a medical professional to understand the basic difference between pathogens and the means of addressing them!

We've always been f***ed with this nincompoop in charge of our executive branch, but it somehow just keeps getting even more ridiculous and even more concerning. When will we hit the bedrock?! Is it even possible?!

I don't know about that. If we didn't have state and local officials stepping up I think we could have seen similar results here from the Trump administration's response.

I never watch Trump's lie-rallies. What's making this one special?

I'm not watching it either, but from the general reaction on Twitter it sounds like Trump has gone into full raving lunatic mode.

During the briefing there was a chyron on CNN that said: "Angry Trump turns briefing into propaganda session."

Did he give a reason? Well...other than a generic Trump platitude like "they're bad".

He said they withheld vital information that could have prevented the crisis in the U.S and that they gave Governors false info that resulted in them wanting more ventilators and PPE

He's such a disingenuous piece of s***.

In unprecedented move, Treasury orders Trump’s name printed on stimulus checks
Quote
The Treasury Department has ordered President Trump’s name be printed on stimulus checks the Internal Revenue Service is rushing to send to tens of millions of Americans, a process that could slow their delivery by a few days, senior IRS officials said.

The unprecedented decision, finalized late Monday, means that when recipients open the $1,200 paper checks the IRS is scheduled to begin sending to 70 million Americans in coming days, “President Donald J. Trump” will appear on the left side of the payment.

It will be the first time a president’s name appears on an IRS disbursement, whether a routine refund or one of the handful of checks the government has issued to taxpayers in recent decades either to stimulate a down economy or share the dividends of a strong one.

One word ... Narcissism.

He basically sees this as bribery and hopes people see his name on the checks and credit him for it entirely just for that reason. I pray that no one buys into it. Hell, it might actually backfire since everything Trump puts his name loses value. Or maybe it could backfire since he's holding up the process for the sake of vanity.

By the way, my mom got her stimulus check today, electronically, and there was no trace of Trump's name on it. So it might not be as effective as he hopes if most people end up getting theirs directly deposited like my mom did.

Protesters in Michigan have Trump flags and Confederate flags. Suffice to say, this protest is really NOT about Whitmer, is it.

What is especially disheartening about these protests is the complete lack of will for political activism on the progressive side.

There should be a million people marching on Washington right now demanding universal testing.  I would totally participate in this even at the risk of personal exposure.

Why do progressives just want to curl up into a ball right now and fruitlessly hope that Trump magically transforms into a different person rather than actually doing something to stop him?

I'm not all that worried (for now, at least). Democrats are actually turning out to vote, even in spite of the pandemic. Just look at Wisconsin. That election result in itself was worth more than any protest, which as said before would just risk further exposure to the virus anyway at this present time.

This country is a set of continued disappointments stitched together by brief blinks of dissipating hope. Sigh...

I think I need to add this to my signature.

This doesn't look too safe.

Can't they just go to a WWE match and leave everyone else alone?

Angry Boomers protesting in Wisconsin.

I've seen these protests referred to as the "No Lives Matter" movement.
