Mayor John Lindsay (R)Governor Rockefeller lost his mojo by his run for the White House in 1968, thus I wouldn't have supported Rockefeller in 1968 but I would have been left with another liberal Republican to vote for: Mayor Lindsay of New York
Whilst I probably would have voted for former Vice President Richard Nixon in the RL 1968 Republican Primaries for the sake of this poll I would have went with the liberal Mayor of New York City: John Lindsay. Hard to believe that people considered Mayor Lindsay a serious contender for the 1972 Democratic Nomination. If only he continued his momentum after the Arizona Caucus.....
