New Public Policy Institute of California Poll has Newsom first and Cox second.

It's interesting that Newsom is in fourth place among Latino voters.

I'm curious have you seen any ads on TV for this race yet. The first campaign add I saw was on Saturday on ESPN and it was for Republican Cole Harris for Lieutenant Governor.

Cox is going after Newsom and Villariagosa. Seriously though how can Democrats support these sleazy men.

Very hard to take an ad about sexual affairs from Republicans seriously considering who their president is.
I didn't realize that Trump was running for Governor of California. Seriously can we focus on state issues and not bring the President into everything. Catharine Baker my state assemblywoman has a Democrat opponent who says if elected she'll fight Trump's agenda. The state assembly has nothing to do with Congress and her Democrat opponent is campaigning like it does.

All politics is national now. Been that way since 1994.
My point is that it shouldn't be.

It looks like Newsom finally decided to attend another debate. The Silicon Valley Community Foundation and NBC Bay Area will host “Decision 2018: The Race for Governor,” a debate among candidates running for California governor, on May 8. The debate will be moderated by Chuck Todd, NBC News’ Political Director and Moderator of “Meet the Press.” It will be shown live on NBC Bay Area at 6:30 PM and other affiliates across the state. The top 6 candidates will be participating.

I don't think any action was taken on the Senate race. Here's the other endorsements:

Lt. Governor:  Cole Harris
Attorney General:  Steven Bailey
Secretary of State:  Mark Meuser
Controller:  Konstantinos Roditis
Where did you find those. I don't see those anywhere.

It's looking more and more like this race will be Newsom vs Cox.

For all those Democrats on here that think basically every California statewide race will be D vs D, remember that voter participation in primaries is usually terrible and Republicans usually have higher turnout rates than Democrats.

http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-road-map-voter-turnout-primary-20180513-story.html

Also it's ridiculous how much money is being spent on the Lieutenant Governor's race considering that the position basically does nothing.

I don't see a path for Chiang to make the runoff. I'm pretty sure at this point that it will be Cox vs Newsom.

Don't think Chiang or Allen wins any counties? I'd say Allens got a chance in OC and some norcal counties and the other super conservative ones. Chiangs also got a chance in some bay area counties and maybe Ventura
Ironically one poll's crosstabs showed that Allen was only getting like 6% in Orange County. His best region was the Central Valley. Chiang isn't winning any counties.
