ITT: Upper-middle-class liberals romanticizing life in the hood despite the fact that they lock their car doors when they go into an urban drugstore for five minutes.

Do people ever not lock their car doors, regardless of geography? Sounds like disturbing behavior to me.

It's common for white people to immediately lock their car door when they see a black man walking by.

To answer the question: no crime.  I've lived in a low-income, high-crime area for the past year and a half.  There have been multiple shootings and stabbings while I've been living here and there's even a small memorial on the corner of a nearby street for someone who (presumably) was killed by a gang.  Poverty isn't fun, crime isn't fun, and I would gladly trade places with someone who doesn't live somewhere surrounded by poverty and violence.

Huh? Brodie you don't gotta makes it out to seem like white people suspect black people of crime just for being black. Unless you're an idiot you lock your car whenever you leave it.
