CSA Presidential Election Game

in 1861, Eleven states seceded from the United States and formed the Confederate State of America, electing Jefferson Davis of Mississippi for their first President, with him taking the George Washington route and being Non-Partisan. Following the battle of Harrisburg in 1864 due to General Robert E. Lee's well executed invasion of the north, the Union brought peace terms and it was agreed that the states that had originally seceded from the Union to be recognized as their own independent Nation and for the states of Missouri, West Virginia, and Kentucky was to be given to the CSA as well as the New Mexico and Indian Territory. After the victory in the Southern War of Independence, President Davis rode out the rest of his term until 1867, when his term ended and due to the constitution, the President was only limited to one term of 6 years. Many famous Confederate politicians and veterans have opted to stay out of the election. Now with the Non-Partisan movement done, there lies the idea of a two-party system being implemented quickly into the Confederate States.

Hello, welcome to the CSA Presidential Election Game. Here, the goal is to create a party and try and become president of the Confederate States as well as implement your parties proposed manifesto and your own personal Agenda on the Nation. The biggest goal is to either create a Two Party system or upend one of the two parties and replace them. Once a two party system has been implemented, a new player must be in a existing political party for two election cycles before they can run and head their own party. The following is a Party Sheet Followed by a Character Sheet

Party Name:
Party Symbol:
Party Color 1:
Party Color 2:

Once you fill these sheets out, your character will be added and you will begin your campaign to become President. An administration's success on their plans will be determined by an RNG of 1-100 with 1-5 being awful and anything above doing narrowly, moderately, or strongly well. A player can also do their own initiatives per turn. Once we have at least 3-4 players, the game will begin. Here are the Issues and the Current Electoral Map:

Issues:
Slavery: Slavery is protected by the Confederate Constitution, but how long can it last in a new Nation? (Rights wants to strengthen it, Left wants to Abolish it, Centre wants to keep it as is)

Twenty Negro Law: This Law exempts a slaveowner who has around 20 Slaves to be exempt from Military service. Many in the Nation claim this law is unfair and could've cost the CSA the war had they not been led by brilliant men like Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. Still, these rich slaveowners hold a lot of control over Congress and it would be difficult to pass any law over them.
(Right wants to strengthen it, Left wants to abolish it, centre wants to keep it as is).

Term Limits: There have been ideas that presidents having a one term limit law in the constitution may lead to weakness if the Nation is at war and there have been ideas going around that there should be a term limit of two and not just one. (Right wants to keep it to one term, Left wants it to be two terms,
Centre wants to put this issue off for later)

Relationship with the United States: Our brothers to the North are a little angered at us but still, would it be the best interest of the CSA to repair relations with our former oppressors? (Right wants to leave USA in the past, Left wants to repair relations with USA, Centre doesn't care)

Agriculture vs Industry: The war for control of the Economy of the CSA is now at a standstill with the CSA between traditional agricultural ways and new, modern industrialist ways. (Right supports Agriculture, Left supports Industry, Centre supports a balance of both)

Inflation: Despite the high times of the Davis administration, the money situation has continued to get worse and worse. Now, how can the CSA continue with it's own money? (Right supports redistribution of current currency, Left supports creating a New Currency, Centre wants to put this issue to the side for another day)

Knights of the Golden Circle Act: In 1865, members of a radical group called the Knights of the Golden Circle proposed to Jefferson Davis a plan to expand and conquer all of Latin America. Despite being laughed out of the White House of the Confederacy, though Senator Louis Wigfall of Texas was interested and introduced an Act to Congress in Early 1866 in which the CSA would Annex Cuba and Mexico and would begin the slow process of Confederatizing them so they can be a state in the CSA. Being pocket Veto'd by President Davis after 22 of 26 Senators voted yes on the Act and 99 of 105 Representatives of the House voted yes. After Davis, the next president will have to have one of these be the biggest issue as it is perhaps the most prevalent in the current year. (Right wants to Pass it, Left wants to end it, Centre wants to continue to pocket Veto it).

A parties performance in Congress will be determined by RNGs in every state with a specific number going for Each Party.

Electoral Map and former administrations Data down Below. Presidential endorsements and Party deals for cabinet is to be a PM with the Cabinet appointments having me moderate the discussion via PM.

Virginia - 18 Electoral Votes

Tennessee - 13 Electoral Votes

North Carolina - 12 Electoral Votes

Georgia - 12 Electoral Votes

Missouri - 11 Electoral Votes

Kentucky - 11 Electoral Votes

Alabama - 11 Electoral Votes

Mississippi - 9 Electoral Votes

Texas - 8 Electoral Votes

Louisiana - 8 Electoral Votes

South Carolina - 8 Electoral Votes

Arkansas - 6 Electoral Votes

Florida - 4 Electoral Votes

131 Total Electoral Votes

66 Electoral Votes needed to win

OK, NM, and AZ will become states same time as actual history and will continue to have that number of Electoral Votes that it had in Actual history. If a new place has been conquered and someone wants it to become a state, I will do an RNG to see if it does become a state or if it doesn't. If it does become a state, it will be given 3 Electoral Votes and will continuesly add 1-5 Electoral Votes per every 3-5 Election Cycles.

President: Jefferson davis

Vice President: Alexander H. Stephens

Secretary of State: Judah P. Benjamin

Secretary of Treasury: Christopher Memminger

Secretary of War: James Seddon

Attorney General: George Davis

Secretary of the Navy: Stephen Mallory

Postmaster General: John H. Reagan

Game officially begins on May 12th, 1867

A nitpick, but the CSA would not be able to take AZ/NM/WV even if they won.

Probably not MO/OK either.

For the sake of the game, let's not nitpick. Hope to see a character of yours in this game soon.

Richmond Extra: 1867 Election so far

It is time for the Next Presidential Election, our first real one since gaining Independence. So far, only one Candidate has declared to intention to run, former Secretary of State Judah P. Benjamin. The former Secretary of State has been quite popular, helping cool relations with our former Oppressors up north and create a Grandiose Alliance with Both France and Great Britain, creating the ideal world for our Confederacy so far.

In an interesting turn of events, however, Judah has decided to create his own Political Party, the Confederate Party. We do not know if this could lead to a two party system but it seems the Confederate Party may be in for a Landslide victory with few Opposition to challenge him.

People who have given hints on running or may have plans to run as of right now: General Nathaniel Bedford Forrest, who was the general that drew away Union General Buell from the town of Pittsburg Landing for a decisive few Hours, giving the rest of the Army of Tennessee enough time for their counter-attack that ended the Union's pitiful southern Campaign rather quickly.

Senator Louis Wigfall of Texas has also stated interest in running. Rather Popular in Texas, Alabama, and Georgia for his quite harsh policies to the idea of Negro freedom as well as the creator of the Knights of the Golden Circle Act, if he runs, he may prove a real challenge to Judah P. Benjamin and even has a slim possibility of winning the needed 66 Electoral Votes to become President.

Senator Landon Carter Haynes of Tennessee has also given the hope to run in this race. Being quite the moderate, his morals have given him quite the support among voters, especially in his homestate of Tennessee. If Haynes doesn't run, it would still be wise for the next president to consider him for position of Attorney General.

Finally, an ideal candidate running in the Race, General John C. Breckenridge may run for president and instead of being ignored by Congress, he may become our second president.

With these candidates now having thoughts on running, whoever Benjamin P. Judah picks to become his running mate may decide if one of the aforementioned onlookers do join the race. For the sake of Curiosity, we ran a National polling on the five selected candidates to see how well they would preform Nationally:

CSA National Polling on Judah P. Benjamin and four hypothetical candidates:

Judah P. Benjamin - 51%
John C. Breckenridge - 27%
Landon Carter Haynes - 17%
Louis Wigfall - 3%
Nathaniel Bedford Forrest - 1%

No matter who runs in this race, we are all garunteed a fight come November 18th of this year. Get ready, fine citizens. Election Season has arrived.

the aforementioned candidates can either be selected as a running mate for Benjamin or it could be either another Historical persona, such as Vice President Alexander H. Stephens, or a custom Character. Post once you have your choice Del Tachi. Presidential Election Convention of the CSA for 1867 will continue from May 21st-May 30th. Other players can also join to either compete against or support Judah for Election. Round ends on New Year's Day at 3:50 PM EST. At the end, an RNG will be held to see who might run against Judah If another player hasn't joined by then. Be prepared to get everything ready and do as much research as you can so you can play to the best of your ability. Have Fun!

Yes. We're all creating characters. Typically when someone uses an empty quote (just a quote and noting else) it means that they agree with what the person is saying.

Ah, thank you. Never got that before. get these characters in ASAP. I hope to have a very competitive Election for the beginning of the game.

How much time is there for me to join? I think I want to play if I have the time with work and whatnot but I might forget lol.

You have until August of 1867. Basically, after eight rounds, no one can join.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE Ramuser campaign

Former CA Cornell and CS senator from North Carolina Stephen Ramuser has anncouned the running mate of his Freedom Party ticket.

General Robert E Lee the war hero of the War of Northern Aggression has been chosen at the campaign’s running mate.

We see Lee as a founding father of the Confederacy and the and a mentor to Mr Ramuser.

We believe that he will bring popularity to the ticket and a total boost for the campaign.

We believe with Ramuser as president and Lee as his Vice President that will bring in the glory of a beganing of a great American Empire.

OOC: Sadly, Robert E Lee has been claimed by @JacksonHitchcock

Your are free to choose another Military officer, However.

I forgot to post this in the OP but here is the Timeline of this Timeline's Civil War

1861: Pretty much the same, only big difference is that the Battle of Hetteras halts any Union hopes of taking NC's Coastline.

1862: Shiloh ends with the Union Army retreating in Major Disarray after Nathan Bed Forrest's Attack completely halted their hopes to win. This is soon followed by the Battle of Frederick, Maryland on September 19th, in which Lee would outsmart General McClellan with a force of 43,500 against McClellan's own force of 57,000. McClellan would be killed by a Cannonball in the battle and die a week later from pneumonia. Due to the surprising victory, the Union is not able to recover in time and the AoP, this time led by Pope, is defeated yet again in the Battle of Sykesville as another major victory against Union forces on December 17th. Due to the threat now posed to Washington after Lee captures Baltimore, which is clear of Federal troops, on December 22nd, Lincoln, his cabinet, and congress is evacuated under the cover of Night on December 23rd to Philadelphia before being escorted to Boston where they can serve as the government until Washington is secure once more. Meanwhile, Lee creates the Army of East Tennessee, led by General Leonidas Polk, to besiege Washington D.C. and to keep Federals from the city and from Delaware from his supply lines and his rear. (Frederick and Sykesville are TTL's Antietam and Fredericksburg; Special order 191 is captured, but only partially and thus McClellan only knew a portion of Lee's plan)

1863: 1863 literally begins with a massive Bang when the Union Launches two offensives. One led by General Meade, now the commander of the AoP, to try and retake Maryland and one led by Grant to attempt to take Knoxville and thus secure Tennessee. Meanwhile, Lee begins to prepare for an offensive into Pennslyvania while General John C. Breckenridge is given the task of defending Vicksburg until proper reinforcements arrive while General Albert Sidney Johnson defends Tennessee from Grant. At the same time, Joseph E. Johnson begins to create an army for his own planned offensive into Missouri.

On April 19th, Meade and Lee's forces meet at the Battles of Yellow Springs, Clover Hill, and Braddock Heights (these battles take the TTL place of Chancellorsville). From April 19th to May 3rd, Lee Continousely bloodies Meade until Meade has no other choice but to retreat from Maryland. While both Yellow Springs and Clover Hill are decisive victories, Clover Hill is a costly one and Lee briefly considers retreating back south before being told that he would receive around 18,000 fresh recruits by June 13th and only needed to stay put. General Meade retreats into Pennslyvannia to rebuild the AoP and await Lee's inevitable offensive there.

At the same time, the Battle of Clinton near Knxoville,TN happens between Grant and AS Johnson's forces from April 28th-May 1st. It's a decisive but also phyrric victory for the south, seeing Grant finally retreat from Tennessee but bloodying AS Johnson's force so harshly that he can't pursue and destroy Grant. On June 13th, AS Johnson is relieved of his duty and replaced with John Bell Hood who is also given 21,000 Fresh recruits which he uses to meet with Braxton Bragg for an Offensive into Kentucky.

In Mississippi, P.G.T Beauregard meets with Breckenridge and is able to force the Union Army of the Mississippi's hand in the Battle of Antioch, absolutely crushing it and forcing it to Surrender on June 17th. While Beauregard is given the order to replace Breckenridge's force in Vicksburg and AS Johnson is given command Breckenridge's force to at least attempt to retake New Orleans, Breckenridge is brought to Richmond and in which President Jefferson Davis, after heavy urging from General Robert E Lee, places Breckenridge as his new Secretary of war, a position he will be in until 1865.

On June 29th, Lee launches an invasion of Pennslyvannia and Meade attempts to intercept him, leading both to meet at Gettysburg on July 2nd. On the first of the two day battle, General Ramuser uses all availible forces at his disposal to shock and stun Meade's Right flank enough that it collapses quite quickly. What is followed on July 3rd is a near rout before the Left Flank manages to stave off an attack from James Longstreet and thus save the AoP from complete Encirclement and Destruction. On July 4th, the corps under the command of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson launches a sneak attack on the Left Flank of the Union Army at 6:45 AM. The Left Flank, still barely re-cooperating after nearly being crushed by Longstreet, completely collapses after only 2 hours of fighting, during which Stonewall Jackson is nearly killed 3 times. The Rest of the Battle is a simple mop up as the AoNV routs the rest of the AoP. This Battle is the single deadliest battle of the war with Lee's force of around 53,000 suffering 16,000 dead and 24,000 wounded while Meade's larger force of 109,000 suffers 23,000 dead and 38,000 wounded. For 7 days, Lee stays in Pennslyvania, the AoNV getting better with Breckenridge as Sec of War and receiving 21,000 more fresh recruits to prepare for the rest of his Pennslyvania campaign.

In the West, Hood and Bragg's forces cross the border into Kentucky and are practically unchallenged before being met with General Sherman's Newly made Army of Kentucky with 64,000 Ready and able men on the fields of Louisville on July 5th. The Battle is long and hard but is ended when Poe Limasta leads the 5th Louisiana Brigade and two other brigades into an assault Sherman's rear at 7:35 PM, ending the battle as a costly victory for the CSA and allows the Confederates to begin securing Kentucky at great pace once they are respectfully replenished enough to Continue Military Operations.

For the rest of July and all of August, the War is relatively quiet as both sides plan their next move carefully. During this time, AS Johnson attempts to retake New Orleans 7 times but is repulsed every time.

On September 3rd, with a fully created, equipped, and trained Confederate Army of Missouri, Jose[h E. Johnson laucnhes an offensive into Missouri and wins against Pope in the Battle of Springfield on September 7th before he begins to besiege the City of St. Louis with the hope that it surrenders by Christmas.

On September 9th, Lee Launches his second offensive into Pennslyvania and forces Meade into Battle in Chambersburg (September 13th - 17th), Carlisle (September 21st - 27th), and York (September 30th - October 3rd) Before the second Pennslyvania offensive ends with Meade still located in Pennslyvannia, deep in Union Territory, and Meade being forced to withdraw into Ohio to be safe from Lee. From October 4th - November 19th, the war is relatively quiet until D.C. surrendered to Leonidas Polk November 20th. Lee's Orders are Simple "Do Not kill any surrendering union soldiers allow them to return to their homes on Parole for at least a year. Do not destroy D.C. and camp outside it." Polk follows the orders and does exactly as he is ordered too. On December 23rd, St. Louis surrenders to E Jonson, giving him control of the Northern Mississippi. 1863 Ends with the Union in a wreck and War Exhaustion at an all time high while the south Celebrates a year of a great Many Victories, the year of 1864 being well known to be the year that the war is decided on.

1864: Hood decides to go for West Virginia which has yet to be quell while Bragg remains in Kentucky to keep it securely under his control. The 1st and 2nd battles of Harper's Ferry ends in bloody defeats for hood in March and for a brief month, The Union has hopes that they can turn the war around. That hope is quickly dashed however when Hood wins the 3rd Battle of Harper's Ferry, Polk successfully invades Delaware, AS Johnson finally retaking New Orleans, and E Johnson successfully defending their aqquisitons in Missouri From March to May.

on May 17th, what becomes known as The Five Great Battles Happens between Lee and both Meade and Hooker. The first Battle, occurring from May 17th-May 21st, was at Huntingdon before this was followed up by the battle of Aloonta from May 23rd - May 25th. After Meade's disasterous performance at Aloonta which saw half of the AoP destroyed, Lincoln puts Joseph Hooker in charge.  Hooker launches an attempt to retake Maryland but is defeated at Martinsburg in Maryland from June 11th - June 15th. Hooker is able to defeat the combined forces of both Lee and Polk at the battle of Hanover on June 19th - June 21st but looses over 3/4ths of the AoP doing so and must retreat to Harrisburg instead of pushing on the advantage.

After a month of both sides licking the wounds, the final battle of The Five Great Battles happens at Harrisburg when Hooker, leading a force of 136,000 men faces off against Lee, who is leading a force of 67,000 men on August 1st. For the next 5 days, the battle is a total stalemate as neither side can get the upper hand. However, Major General Chad M. Fuss launches a successful flanking Manouver on August 7th on the Union's Right Flank with his 5 divisions. After this, Lee presses the attack and routs the AoP for good, really ending them as a threat. This Battle replaced Gettysburg from how costly it was with 36,000 dead and 72,000 wounded on the Union side and 18,000 dead and 27,000 wounded on the Confederate's side, but it would be the second to last battle of the civil War, with Lee pursuing Hooker to Philadelphia where, on August 24th, Hooker surrenders the AoP to Lee. Lee acts much like Grant in OTL and does the same thing Grant did at Appamattox. TIn the Most Ironic Sense, the last battle of the war is a union victory in which E Johnson loses the battle of St Louis that went from August 18th - August 25th, but it's too late to turn the tide and on September 13th, Abraham Lincoln formerly agrees to a peace treaty, nicknamed the Southern Miracle Treaty by both sides, in which the CSA was to be recognized as an independent Nation by the Union and the states of Kentucky and Missouri as well as the Indian and New Mexico Territories being ceded to the Union. Originally, Davis wanted to absorb Maryl;and, DC, and Delaware but Lee talked him out of it.

After the War, the South began to prep for independence and Lee famously said at Philadelphia "Well I'll be damned, looks like we didn't need Europe after all". Lincoln is defeated rather soundly by Democrat William Allen of Ohio with 165 Electoral Votes. That is where we are now at.

So was this Timeline helpful at all?

Breaking News from the Lee Campaign
Lee/Davis for President
Former confederate President Jefferson Davis
has been chosen as General Lee's running mate for the upcoming election. This comes early in the campaign, with the 2 major heros of the Confederacy begin gearing up for a run for the Presidency, Davis will see to help with what many saw as a lack of political experience. They  should be seen as the frontrunners in this campaign.

Speech:

General Lee nears the podium he looks down onto the people, "My Brothers, I stand here today having helped fight the Union, out of loyalty to my home state of Virginia. My running mate Jefferson Davis of Mississippi will be with me to fight against the Union taking away our rights. We need to fight not just for State's rights, but for the rights of men. We are the people of god the Anglo-Saxon founders of our nation, the northerners and the Jews like Secretary of State Judah P. Benjamin."

"President Davis, and I are 2 of the founders of this great confederacy while my Opponents fight for a Confederacy they didn't even serve, President Davis is from the Great state of Mississippi one of a great and noble heritage and my home of Virginia were 2 of the founding states, while Secretary Benjamin was not even born in these Confederate States, he was born in Dutch Virgin Isles. With this I do not ask for your votes, but I do ask for a United Confederacy whether that is with Secretary Benjamin at the helm, or of myself. I plea to you Make the Confederacy a United one valuing many things those should be God, States Rights, and Freedom."

"I will add, in the war of northern aggression I lead the Army of Northern Virginia against the tyrannical forces of Abraham Lincoln and the Northern Aggressors, the brave man Stonewall Jackson under my command crushed the Union Left flank in the early morning in a small town in Pennsylvania known as Gettysburg. With this the Army secured victory for the Confederacy. And with this we defeated the Tyrant known as Lincoln."

(Benjamin can't be President as he was born outside of the United States and not to American Parents.)

OOC: I think the rule that applied to Hamilton applied to here. He wasn't born in the USA but since he was one of the founders of the CSA and was in it since it was created, he would become an Honorary Confederate Citizen ad be eligible for President. Also interesting choice for Vice President. I think this has never happened in our history so it'll be interesting to see what might happen. It doesn't make much sense though, as Jefferson Davis wouldn't want to be seen as the guy who ran as Vice President just so he could become president again six years later. Also didn't Davis and Lee constantly butt heads (they do in TTL mainly Lee refuses Jefferson's order to attack Pittsburgh or Philadelphia because they are both too well defended and would stretch the AoNV thin). All in all, while Longstreet or Jeb E Stuart would make more sense, it's your choice. Smiley

I think they did, but I think the had a respect also I think it helps makes the ticket easier as one is an experienced politician the other is a popular general and war hero.

Makes sense though you did say Lee is a Senator for 2 years now, which would give him some experience.

RICHMOND EXAMINER

Today, May 30th, 1867, the first of six conventions will begin in the city of Knoxville, Tennessee. Today, the Candidates for president will announce their introduction Campaign Speech and declare who their running mate will be. The two most interesting candidates thus far is Robert E Lee of Virginia and Judah P. Benjamin of Louisiana. The convention will begin with a speech from our standing President, Jefferson Davis of Mississippi before each Candidate begins their Campaign with a grand speech.

Jefferson’s Speech: “Six years ago, I was elected unanimously by all of you to be President. Throughout my tenure as President, I have seen a great many challenges. Each challenge was indeed more difficult than the last, but I remained strong and worked my hardest for all of you. Now my tenure is finished and our Constitution clearly states that The President of this Grand Confederacy is limited to only one term. Thus, it is my humble honor to Announce the choices for our next president that you may vote on. I hope our next choice will serve you as well as I have. Please, may our first Candidate come up to this stage here!

That was Davis’ Speech. Note that this will be the only NPCC he is allowed to attend due to Presidential Matters, but he will be around to watch each Presidential Debate in person so he can see for himself how prepared his successors are for the office. Presumably, the first one to speak will be Judah P. Benjamin, our former Secretary of State. After him, it shall be random but we will give a poll via Telegram tomorrow to show you, the fine Confederate citizens, what the rest of the Nation thinks of each Candidate.

John S. Mosby Campaign Statement

Mr. Mosby announced today in Richmond, Virginia, that he would be withdrawing from the race for president, citing the fact that internal polls showed him underwater in Virginia, the state he was most likely to win. He wishes all candidates the best, and he will make no endorsement as of this moment.

OOC: I'm quite a bit busier that I thought I would be when I signed up Sad

You shall be missed. If you do find the time, however, you can rejoin.

My running mate is Bell.

There are multiple bells. Which Bell, what state is he from, is he a Senator, Representative, or a Governor there?

I'll upload the first News Update of the Game that will officially start this round. It'll end on January 3rd and it will be from June 1st-June 8th.

Richmond Examiner

After Yesterday's NPCC, we have developed several polls as to who most people would vote for if the Election were  to happen, each ticket being represented:

Benjamin/Breckenridge - 46%
Lee/Davis - 34%
Ramuser/Jackson - 11%
Johnson/Barksdale - 8%
Limasta/Bell - 1%.

The Following is in Local News:

SLAVE REVOLT IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA PUT DOWN BY TENNESSEAN BRIGADE.

During the NPCC that was held yesterday, several dozen slaves butchered their masters, grabbed several weapons, and Marched to Atlanta to kill as many white men and women as possible. A Tennessean brigade of 2500 infantry led by Andrew C. Fuss, the 22 year old son of Current Tennessee Governor and hero of the battle of Harrisburg Major Chad M. Fuss, who led his 5 divisions in a wide sweeping motion without orders from Lee, allowing the Union left flank to be surprised and collapsed under his brilliance, though he did lose a leg from the battle.

The young Fuss, rank Sergeant Major, joined the Confederate military in 1864 on his birthday on July 30th, only 5 days away from when both sides negotiated peace terms. His brigade of 2500 Tennessean boys were stationed with the Army of Georgia under General Braxton Bragg until further notice. When asked why he was near Atlanta, he stated that he was ordered to train his brigade there. When asked about a Military promotion or a political career, he answered that he wouldn't be surprised by it and that it wasn't out of the water yet. No matter the outcome, this young man should definitely have a great career ahead of him.

CONFEDERATE SYMPATHIZERS MIGRATE SOUTH AFTER UNION ANTI-SYMPATHIZER LAW

Following the War of Southern Independence, there were approximately 2.5 - 6.7 Million Confederate Sympathizers in the Union that were left practically stranded and with no real place to go. The Majority of these citizens were located in Maryland, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas before the recently passed South Sympathizer Prison Act which had any and all Sympathizers to our cause during the war arrested After a week's notice. Due to this fact, Confederate Sympathizers have flooded the CSA in a desperate attempt to leave the Union and not go to jail. Due to these refugees, the following states are projected to get more Electoral Votes than Originally intended for the 1873 Election:

Arkansas - (Formerly +4 Electoral Votes) +7 Electoral Votes

Kentucky - (Formerly +1 Electoral Votes) +5 Electoral Votes

Missouri - (Formerly +4 Electoral Votes) +8 Electoral Votes

Virginia - (Formerly -2 Electoral Votes) +4 Electoral Votes

Tennessee - (Formerly -1 Electoral Vote) +7 Electoral Votes

North Carolina - (Formerly -2 Electoral Votes) + 3 Electoral Votes

Texas - (Formerly No Change) +5 Electoral Votes

New issue unlocked: Confederate Sympathizer Refugees (Left wants to welcome them in completely, Centre doesn't want to pay them any mind, Right wants them to take Citizen tests)

PRESIDENT DAVIS DECLARES AUGUST 1ST-7TH AS HARRISBURG WEEK AND A NATIONAL HOLIDAY

Today, just a few hours ago, President Jefferson Davis, who is now also the running mate for Candidate Robert E Lee, announced that the first of August to the Seventh of August was to be the National Holiday of Harrisburg Week, which would memorialize the Battle of Harrisburg. During this week, All Banks are to have a day off and all workers from industrial places are to have it off. Slaves, however, were not spoken about in the speech. There is the fear this may lead to worsening relations between the Confederacy and the Union due to Harrisburg being an utterly humiliating battle for them. There are reports from Lee coming in now that he may consider replacing Davis with Jeb E Stuart, which admittedly makes much more sense, as Davis and Lee butted heads numerous times during the war.

Now for international news:

EMPEROR MAXIMILIAN OF MEXICO FACES MARXIST THREAT

Declared Emperor of Mexico in 1864, Maximilian von Hapsburg has ruled over Mexico with the aid of France to help keep it Stable and to modernize and improve the country. Despite three years of Success, the Mexican emperor is quite unpopular with the citizenry. On April 17th, Several Citizens took up arms and repulsed a France Corps patrolling the Yucatan Peninsula, Declaring the Commune of Mexico, a Marxist state. The Emperor has now begun raising an army of around 17,000 which seems will be ready to be deployed in August to defeat the Marxist threat. Despite this, there is a large amount of fear among the Emperor?s closest advisors may invite the Military or worse, several Bandit Gangs, to take control of the capital leading to a Civil war. The Emperor has of course seen such action as ridiculous and is continuing with his plans.

BALKANS AT WAR ONCE MORE

In lieu of their quite spectacular defeat at the hands of their northern Rival, Prussia, The Austrian have declared war and invaded the Ottoman Empire or the sick man of Europe in the hopes that at least taking one province, Most Likely Bosnia, would secure their continued control of their large Empire, though experts disagree, stating that adding a New province and another ethnic group to the already very Ethnically Diverse empire may cause it to collapse under a sea of Nationalism. We will keep you posted on this war and the after effects of Both countries.

SPANISH ?GLORIOUS REVOLUTION? OVERTHROWS INCOMPETENT MONARCHY; SEARCH FOR A NEW SPANISH MONARCH HAS BEGUN

On May 27th, Several Spanish forces betrayed the current Monarchy of Isabella II and sent the former Royal Family into Exile while a provisional Government has been set up to govern the Spanish Empire until a new Monarch had been crowned. The provisional Government has declared that the reason for the deposing of the Spanish Bourbons as Gross Incompetence of the highest order, ignoring the poor of Spain, Not incorporating several promised reforms, Negligence to the Empire, Army, and Navy, and Finally, Corruption of the Highest Caliber. It is unknown if any of these accusations though the state of the Spanish Empire at the Moment does indeed reflect the accusations. Several notable Spanish Generals, including Baldomero Espartero, had been offered the crown. Each one, however, has rejected the offer, thus forcing them to search elsewhere for a new Monarch, one who is quite Liberal. The task, however, is quite as Provisional President Juan Prim who instigated the search has stated ?The ?! Finding a Liberal Monarch in Europe is harder than finding an atheist in Heaven!?

FORMER UNION GENERALS FORM RE-UNION PARTY

On May 16th, 5 former Union Generals from the War (Grant, Sherman, Meade, Hooker, and Chamberlain) met in the city of Cleveland, Ohio and created a new Challenge to both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party in the North. Named the Re-Unification Party, it's biggest goal is to go to war with the Confederate States and forcefully re-admit them back into the Union. Though they have Declared that they won't run a candidate in the next two Elections, they have been projected to be doing very well, winning just about every Republican State Senate and House seats from 1864 except California and are even projected to win the Legislature of Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Maryland from the Democrats. If they run a candidate in 1876, it is believed they may very well win the Election and if they do so, will they Declare War on the Confederacy?

I'm back lol Smiley

John S. Mosby
Journalist with the Richmond Examiner

After noticing few journalists in the political sphere, and after recently withdrawing from the presidential race, Mosby decided to become a journalist with the Richmond Examiner.

Bio/DOB, and other personal details remain the same.

Time for a Special Election Poll for his Senate Seat then. In 1865, an amendment was added that a Senator/Representative can only have their Congress job or another one. I'll do it as a poll on this forum and After 24 hours, I will announce the Results.
