Just got tested, boosted, tested, tired, tested, denied entry, tested, tested, tired, stranded, tested, tested, tested, bloodlet, tested, and tested, in that order.
Are you tanned and ready though

I sure do love being literally seconds away from falling asleep and then suddenly thinking about death for 0.2 seconds and waking up experiencing massive death anxiety

Since everyone is posting about flights, here is mine

May God bless Ryanair; and that wasn't even the cheapest combination! (Under different dates I could have flown for as little as 25€, and only 6,25€ after government subsidies)

@Santander ; if you truly want to live like the common people; taking some dirt cheap Ryanair flight with no extras is the way to go Wink

He wants normal experiences, not masochist experiences.

can't believe I didn't discuss this whole saga from the past week here.

So for backstory, around this time last year I met a guy in my General Meteorology class. He happened to also be from South Carolina, and has Ewing's Sarcoma (likely linked to contaminated drinking water when he lived in Indiana). He offered to drive me back home since my hometown isn't very far out of the way for him on his trip back. This was very helpful, as my dad (who had neuropathy only a few months before) was unable to drive, and my mom has epilepsy. I accepted, and he and I became good friends.

Over last summer some last minute tuition-raising f**kery forced him to drop out of the college, but he still brought me back to Mobile for the fall, and brought me back home for winter break and back here for spring. He still loved Mobile, so when I asked if he thought moving together off campus was a good idea, he said yes.

His living arrangements were... complicated to say the least. He eventually decided, with my parents permission, to move into my room in the middle of January, after he came back from dropping me off in Mobile. Problem is, he's uh, let's just say personally incompatible with my mom. He talks a s**t ton even when it's clear that she'd rather have some quiet, he made a damn mess of the kitchen several times, etc. Eventually they had an argument about some thing she said offhandedly a few days before, and he moved out and cut off the apartment deal. Like, 4 days before we were gonna sign the lease.

Considering how quickly he changed his mind on this (especially after something that had nothing to do with me), how he was interacting with my mom (who I have a similar personality to), and just how he was acting while living there, I'm kinda glad.

But, of course, this upended my whole planned living situation, and I had to scramble to find someplace new (I'm not a big fan of living on-campus, mostly because I can't cook a damn thing and have to pay for a meal plan I barely use). After many missed classes, insomnia-ridden nights and a double-dose on my anti-anxiety meds after one particularly rough day (yes, I know I'm not supposed to, but it's better than spiraling in an anxiety loop), I finally signed the lease on a new, 1-person apartment just off campus last Thursday. The security officer and community manager both have lived in the complex for many years, which was a very good sign. Walking distance to my classes is actually shorter than it is living on campus, and my unit is far enough away from the main drag that noise would be at a minimum. Moving in early May, pretty excited!

I'm glad that you are doing well after a rough January and has your friend acted this way before?
He’s quick to change his mind and is kinda angry at the world ( can’t blame him considering his predicament but still)

I saw that one of my new favorite youtubers got married and now I have this weird mix of emotions because I am really happy for them but also worried that I'd never have anything like that because I haven't really found myself attracted to anyone irl

I can't fall asleep now

I’ve seriously gotten addicted to progressive rock, and boy is it the best addiction I’ve had.
I've had a power metal addiction for 2 years now and it's probably the only reason my GPA is as high as it is, holy hell is it motivating

i turned off the option where if you press the power button 5 times in succession it calls 911

I'm 90% certain that's where the issue was

My mom is on an IHeartRadio podcast now. Her name (as well as mine) are generic enough thanks to our last name that I feel ok talking about it here without worrying about doxxing etc. It's called Sympathy Pains and it's about a woman who has been faking illnesses for 20 years and the people she hurt through it.

today's gonna be a long day. 3 finals, 2 of which determine if I get a C in the class (one for each end of that letter grade, thanks History prof for docking me a whole letter grade because I overslept 5 times). Then I have a term paper to write that I have maybe 10% done, due tonight at midnight. Fun fun. At least once today's done I'll just have my Spanish final on Thursday and that'll be it.

Also looks like I'll finally get paid for doing research work after working on a volunteer no-pay basis for almost 2 years, not sure how much it'll be but it should be enough for rent etc. Speaking of, moving into that apartment this Friday/Saturday (depends on how fast we can move stuff, I already got late stay in case so that they don't boot me out of my room friday night)

Basically, just a lotta s**t. But once today's done it'll be pretty much over.

I honestly don't know why I had any self-doubt about my AP Gov test. It was a literal breeze. Also, Atlas made a cameo appearance.

I assume an electoral map?

Starting to look at grad schools. It’s a little early but whatever. Strongly considering going out of the country at the rate things are going.

I dug up a really old memory from my mind this morning, when I was like, 10 I watched this channel, Spirit Science, a lot for a month or two. Decided to see what's going on and hoo boy it's even kookier than I remember. They think Jewish people came from space, that humans are from Mars, and of course the standard energy crystal BS. Glad I pulled myself out of that hole before the cult sucked me in.

I’m heavier than I thought, I was thinking I was around 180 and I’m actually 200, which is where I was about 2 years ago, difference is a lot more of that is muscle compared to before because 2 years ago I wasn’t doing anything most days for exercise, now I walk a couple miles a day on average and do some weight exercises
