I wonder if Matthews will grandstand, forgetting that it's not his show.

You wonder? Of course he will.

I'm thinking Tancredo is the most likely to go Zell Miller on him. Cheesy

Did any of you see MSNBC's post-debate coverage last week, when Matthews was interviewing Mike Gravel, and Gravel made some comment to Matthews about how "you in the media aren't doing your job", and as Matthews was moving onto the next question he said "you got a little zing against me in your answer", and Gravel interjected "well, you deserve it"?

Yeah it was awesome. Gravel 2008.

McCain sounds incredibly prepared and fake.

Yeah I just got home and I already noticed that. He sounds really old too. I feel kind of bad for him.

Paul flubbed his last question... not that it really matters.

Giuliani and McCain smacked down everyone on stem cells. Good for them.

I wonder why they even bothered to ask Paul that one?

How many times have the words "Joe Lieberman" been used in this debate?

I think on the last question McCain started talking about giving him a reach around.

Brownback and Tancredo don't believe in evolution....alright....

I think there were a couple others who did too but I couldn't tell who they were.

But he answered the question without mentioning 9/11 at all

Should we give him a cookie for that?

Giuliani is reminding me of what Obama did. He's playing it a little mellow but he isn't making any major gaffs. On the whole though, these Republicans certainly look lackluster compared to the Democrats.

...which is really saying something.

Well, seeing as Rudy was acctually there and it is considered the "defining" point of his leadership by most... and we have a President who wasn't there who hasn't shut up abotu it for 6 years... and Romney used it to get cheap political points already...

yes

Alright if you say so.

I will take my stab at ranking these folks tonight:

1 ) Huckabee
2 ) Gillmore
3 ) Rudy
4 ) Romney
5 ) Thompson
6 ) Hunter
7 ) Huckabee
8 ) Tancredo
9 ) McCain
10) Paul

You have Huckabee on there twice.

So when do the democrats stand in front of Brit Hume?  Tongue

Chris Matthews voted for Bush twice. Nice try though.

How do you know that?

Yes, even Scarborough said that.. wow... especially taking into account how Matthews gave him more time than the rest of them. hmm.

I hope they do because if he is nominated he will be savaged by the Democrat in the general election.

Romney was certainly the most polished by far, and he definitely seemed to get the most screen time.  We'll see if his poll numbers are affected.

I doubt it.
