Bachmann or Paul should win.

Perry will do well as a write-in.

Cain will probably do alright.

Pawlenty and Santorum will do terribly.

From what I've been able to gather it seems like a Bachmann v. Paul race. I tend to think Paul's people will pull this off and then the result will quickly be dismissed by the media. If Bachmann wins, it will be a bigger deal.

Pawlenty should drop out after this one if he does as poorly as I think he will.

Now, could you imagine if Perry won as a write-in on the same day as his announcement? That would be a BFD but I can't see it happening.

Bachmann's doing pretty well in the so called "corn poll" at the Iowa State Fair:

She's the only one with 2 glasses of corn ... Wink

It looks like...

1. Bachmann
2. Romney
3. Perry
4. Pawlenty
5. Paul
6. Palin
7. Cain
8. The rest (who cares)

Was the Pawlenty introduction ridiculous enough?

They just showed some Pawlenty people in the audience who looked absolutely bored out of their skulls during his speech.

I thought it was awful as is his speech. He does have a good looking family though.

For the entertainment value, I'll write something I never thought I would: go Ron Paul!  If he wins the straw poll it'll be a huge clusterscrew for the GOP.

Not really. They'll just pretend it didn't happen as will the media.

I'm thinking Bachmann will probably win now with Paul in a strong second. Will Pawlenty even make the Top 3?

I really hope Paul won in a landlslide, even with the decently high turnout. That would be kind of funny.

Wow, pretty close. The Paul people will be crying foul, no doubt.

Decent for Perry.

I'm curious to know what other write-ins there were though. I bet Obama got a few at least.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was stolen from Paul and it's not like I'm a Paul booster in any way. The entire Republican establishment didn't want him to get this win and it was very, very close. It's not hard to steal these things when they're close.

Santorum should still drop out. Pawlenty should join him. Being in 3rd isn't good when you are that far behind the top two. That was an awful result.

I hope nobody is mistaking me, of all people, as a Ron Paul fan. I just call them as I see them and this "straw poll" smells a little fishy.
