One perpetrator is probably dead, one or more on the run and chased by police.

The attackers were armed with AK-47s, so this was something more professional ...

The synagogue was luckily empty at 8pm and guarded by at least 1 policeman.

All Austrian synagogues are protected of some sort.

Also injuries at McDonalds and other restaurants.

Background:

Tonight is the last day that restaurants have open.

In 2.5 hours, there would be a new lockdown here in Austria and restaurants would be closed for all of November.

There were still people there enjoying a last day out at the restaurants with friends.

Well, it was just a matter of time until something like this happened here ...

There were also some disturbing acts in the past few days in Vienna as well.

Following the Mohammed cartoon story in France, about 50 Turkish youngsters went into a church in Vienna and destroyed parts of the interior.

In another incident, an Afghan asylum seeker yelled "Allah is great." in the St. Stephens Cathedral recently and harrassed a few people in there.

Interior Minister Karl Nehammer just confirmed "several dead", "several perpetrators" and "that the terror attack is still ongoing, with the attackers using AK-47s, rifles and explosives."

Yes, that's the biggest damn thing you should worry about when your people are being gunned down on the streets like they are nothing.

Don't get me wrong. I definitely worry about "my people".

But I also think this could have big influence if Trump tweets all day long about it tomorrow.

There have been several terror attacks in Vienna and Austria by Arabs in the 1970s and 80s.

The latest confirmed number is 2 dead (1 male civilian, 1 female civilian) and 1 dead attacker.

15 are injured by gunshot wounds, 7 of them critically.

There will be a press conference by the police/interior at 6am (in one hour) with updates.
