Thx for sticking.

The criteria for this CNN debate are the same as for the MSNBC debate, but it seems Bullock has a better chance to qualify this time, as he now has the 3 polls necessary.

This will put him in a fight with Swalwell for the 20th spot, who also has 3 polls right now. But there's still 2 weeks left and more polls will come out until the DNC decides who has qualified.

I'm ok with trading out Ryan, Williamson, or Delaney for Bullock. Mainly because that's the trio that annoyed me the most in the first debate.

Not going to happen.

They all have more polls than Bullock and/or more donors.

It's mostly about Swallwell vs. Bullock.

Question:

Are seated debates not common in the US ?

I’d like to have a debate where candidates are seated in cozy chairs like we have here in Austria.

Debate podiums are unnecessarily stiff.

There was a 2008 GOP primary debate that looked like a game show:

They looked pretty comfy in this one too, from 2012:

Maybe Ron Paul is the key to getting seating at these things? Or Romney.

That 2012 CNN format is what I’m talking about.

We need more of that.

Here's my draw prediction for tomorrow:

July 30: Booker, O'Rourke, Gillibrand, Sanders, Buttigieg, Castro, Biden, Gabbard, Inslee, Bullock

July 31: Delaney, Ryan, Harris, De Blasio, Bennet, Warren, Hickenlooper, Yang, Williamson, Klobuchar

It sucks that they’re trying to push Yang out.

Unlike their Bullock poll rejection, this was OK from the DNC.

Their rules have always said that 2 polls from the same sponsor would not count for a candidate.

Hopefully the field is narrowed down to less than ten candidates by September. The debate was bad to watch because each candidate gets interrupted all the time. Too many people are in the race who have zero chance of winning. As of now, I only consider Biden, Bernie, Liz, Kamala, Mayor Pete and probably Booker as legitimate contenders. The rest should drop out.

10 is guaranteed for September.

It could also be 11, if Gabbard does really well tonight and gets 3 more polls and a donor surge.

Steyrer is unlikely, because as a billionaire he will never get the 130K donors in time.
