(And of course this is a creepy thread and all that. I'm really beginning to wonder if BRTD is actually mentally ill. His obsessive behaviour seems to have no limits)

Look who's talking.

While I would not say no to such a position, my preference would be to reign as head of government of one of the nuclear powers.  Then we'd see what-for!

I think opebo (and his subjects) would be best served as the absolute monarch of some small but relatively well-off city state somewhere.

I'd give him Liechtenstein.

No thanks on the licktenstain, but here's my fantasymap:

I'd prefer the one in yellow please.. failing that the other four might be interesting..  Imagine what one could do with utterly permissive laws about prostitution, drugs, age-of-consent, and immigration, and perhaps a few nukes in one's pocket.

Actually I would like to be dictator of the ECB, after all the government of Greece has had no power since it joined the Euro boondoggle.

It's like a textbook case of a useful idiot. It's really that whole aspect of Opebo (or rather his little cult) that I find interesting. The psychology of people who want to be fooled into following a leader (be it a political dictator, cult leader, rock star, etc) fascinates me, largely because it is a mindset so far removed from my own.

You're the one simplemindedly following an ideology, Gustaf as well as being a slave to consistency.  An omnipotent potentate of good humor and tact outweighs the most 'reasonable' of political philosophies.

Oh, I'm aware of this little game of yours. I'm afraid that your humour appeals more to the adolescent mind than to mine though. If you were actually amusing I'd be a lot more willing to forgive the rest.

I was using the term 'humor' more in the sense of mood and character (as in 'he was in a good humor all week after his rousing session with Svetlana') rather than in the sense of 'funny'.

...old-school egoistic hedonism straight from ancien regime Versailles.

That's one of the nicest things anyone's every said about me, kalwedjt.

Opebo reminds me of Maurice James Kingsley from Blackeyes.

If only there were some way to find this series.. what's this MJK like?

Well... in terms of personality and often (!) vocabulary... er... you, actually. As for who he is, the character is a washed up writer with a laughably old-fashioned style who turns (and, crucially, distorts) the recollections of his niece (a model) into a novel which accidentally becomes a major literary sensation because it is (wrongly) thought to be a piece of cutting-edge postmodern ironic brilliance.

Sounds fascinating - wish I could view it.

opebo, what do you think of the East German automobiles in your signature? According to Jeremy Clarkson and co., every car made in the former Soviet bloc is rubbish.

Jeremy Clarkson is as dumb as a box of rocks, and of course a complete fool for capitalism.

East German automobiles were neat!  Quite a number of them had two-stroke engines if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know guys... BRTD is either a great troll who's folling mosty of us, or he really don't understand why he's a laughstock here.

Because I don't like calling people stupid, I'll go with the first option.

Kal, he's just being jeered at by a lot of dimwits.

Dude, if all you want to listen is BRTD kissing your ass loudly, you two should use PM.

Not at all buddy, I like a good disputation, I just find some more interesting than others.  Gustaf and Joel Repugnant are not the most scintillating I'm afraid (to be fair, JR isn't nearly as bad as Gussy).

You guys seriously just need to f*** and get it over with.

they're both a little out of each other's price range

I'm not sure what this means, but I normally only get $15-$20/hour for 'extra work', though it is rare that I do any extra classes.
