Once again the most selfish posters pimp red avatars, I love it. (on the other hand, it's always the same handful of posters so maybe I shouldn't blame all reds.  If opebo got mail from the USPS I'm sure he'd of been here by now telling us how horrible it would be.)

Anyway, if the USPS wants to end Sat delivery to save some money, I'm all for it.

I'm all for increasing mail delivery days, not reducing them, and I don't see anything 'selfish' about it as I doubt anyone on here gets mail.  I simply support it because it is good economic policy - hard to beat the post office for good working-class unionized jobs.

Germany's postal service has just admitted to having halted (or rather near so) monday mail for july and august, without telling anyone aforehand. They'll be back to full service "after the vacations, when there is more mail."
Note that the spam-to-actual-mail ratio in the German mail is still a lot more favorable than in America.

Now that's a cool bureaucracy.  Just keep getting the salaries, but only operate 2/3 of the time.  Good economic policy and pleasant as well.
