Also apparently on top of being a grifter and a doomer, that Ding guy is also a hypocrite. Allegedly he moved to Austria (where his wife is from) about six months ago and put his kids in a bougie private school because they weren’t doing well with digital school and kids in Europe don’t wear masks while he posts constant doom porn about schools reopening. Whatever if he has the money and the ability to do this and they’re his kids but it’s the hypocrisy of the matter.

Was hoping to go to London for a couple of days after they reopen the 17th but we’re on the amber list. I’m fully vaccinated too.

Attention Biden and CDC:

Unfortunately, once again the CDC is trying to be cautious (as they typically do by convention) but at the risk of confusing the public.
While I get the incentive, the right thing would be to publicly announce that masks are not necessary if you are fully vaccinated.

The only exceptions should be hospitals (duh), schools, and other areas where a lot of unvaccinated people who can’t get it would be (can’t think of any)
Otherwise, masks are not necessary for vaccinated people.

I’m personally going to stop wearing one in stores and stuff by the end of the month depending on how things look.

I won't wear a mask to church of course because its obvious there I'm not a Republican or live music shows once those start again because no Republicans would attend the ones I do. Otherwise I'm still masking up and making it dead clear I didn't vote for Trump.

You know, at some point you're going to have to give up the pretense that anyone thinking you voted for a candidate is going to make a difference in your daily life. Or that people who voted for the president who *just showed Americans today that it is ok to shed your mask once you're vaccinated* aren't going to follow his example.
In a couple weeks sure. But until then I must make sure that everyone understands that I did not support Trump.

Why do you care what strangers think of your political beliefs?

Because ANYONE thinking I'm a Republican would suck.

The only person you can control is yourself and you know you got vaccinated.

I haven’t worn lipstick since last March. Lol guess it’s time for a trip to Sephora.

That is optimistic, but not without warrant. The remote option is fine for disciplined students with attentive parents who have high standards for learning. For students who struggle at all, they need a teacher. Having been a substitute, I have found that 20% of the students get my attention... and they are the ones struggling. The others will do as they are told to do without problems; the 20%.... well, that is what a teacher is for. Maybe the lesson plan was imperfect, but I might be able to fine-tune it. I might motivate someone with some clever words.

Maybe you remember a commonplace assignment in junior-high English classes in which you are instructed to get a vocabulary word, find the meaning in the textbook's glossary, and then put the word into a sentence. If you are above-average in the class, then this exercise is deathly-boring. I suggest to any student who sees it that way and complains.... just get it over as efficiently as possible, and then you will get to do something more interesting.

I typically roamed through the classroom to see if students are doing the assignment. Words such as "That's fine!" or "Good work!" come easily from me when they are merited. If someone isn't doing the work or is struggling (which is more common in math) I try to find where the struggle is and try some fine points.

That is one way to get repeat assignments: have a normal day. To be sure, I am a rigid disciplinarian, but  I can usually get my way -- which keeps students from being sent to the principal's office on a disciplinary referral. Tell me that you do not work in that classroom or that you can make more money dealing drugs... then you have a problem. I value learning and hate drugs.

I’d say virtual is fine for anyone above about seventh grade. Anything below that needs a specific type of kid, parent, and family situation. I’m trying to get a permanent teaching job for the fall and an interview last week the principal told me that they’re having to do five feeder high schools for one elementary school equivalent of virtual academy because elementary parents just don’t want it.

Man I wish my vaccine turned me into Magneto.

I'm usually not one for stereotyping, but why is is that anti-vaxxers always seem to fit into the same kind of demographic profile, in terms of gender, race, and socioeconomic status?

My guess is that Boomers in general are susceptible to misinformation since they haven’t grown up with the internet like millennials and Zoomers. Plus they’re hyper concentrated on Facebook.

I am going to visit relatives in Alabama (my mother is from Alabama) and many of them are anti-vaxxers.

Which precautions should I take?

Bro, if you’re vaccinated it doesn’t matter. Go live your life.

I’m in France and have been vaccinated since mid-April and just had to get tested to come home. Boy I’d forgotten how nasty the test is.

Got my booster yesterday, first since last Thanksgiving. TBH I probably wouldn't have gotten it if I wasn't going to Japan in July (since you need to have a booster within six months). I'm feeling okay. About somewhere between as bad as the second and third, which really made me quite sick.

Same here when I got it. My 2nd booster was also Pfizer whereas the other shots Moderna which might have played a role.

I'm four for four on Moderna. Since I'm doing this to go to Japan and they're particular about the approved vaccines, I'm trying to play it safe.
