Pretty cool deal on MSNBC

Yang makes Warren/Biden viable and gets a delegate from each of them in return

Saw that too. Nice moment

Mostly unrelated question: but why do the NYT call him 'Joseph R. Biden Jr', but Bernard is still Bernie, and Peter is still Pete? I know the naming convention is standard throughout their articles, but how and why?

I truly despise Pete Buttigieg and his breathless platitudes. I hate him and I hate his fanbase of elderly voters who think he's "such a lovely young man".

All these speeches are so cringeworthy watching them in context. The awkward sidestepping of the fact that no one knows who won but still acting like you did, but not outright saying it in case you're wrong. I'm sure they'll play well the next day, when more results are out, but still.

Okay, so I fell asleep unfortunately. I woke up a few times and it just kept saying delayed and I fell back asleep. I just woke up and there are no results but Pete Buttigieg is giving an annoying speech like he just won the Presidential election. I'm seeing your comments and it sounds like everything was f**ked up. Can someone please tell me what in the hell is going on!?!

We have no results but everyone gave a victory speech, though Pete's is the most unequivocal.

One of my posts suggesting Russian interference was deleted -- I never claimed it to be the case here! Just that this sort of mess is what they want, and within their capabilities. Hanlon's Razor (incompetence over malice) here, but if a pattern forms...

So even if we don't have the numbers yet, it's pretty clear that Biden had a terrible performance tonight, right?

Yes, fourth or fifth is awful but in lieu of better numbers, this mess is great for him!

Safe to say no one comes out of this with any particular lead in momentum. Though the top five are fairly well solidified going into New Hampshire. It almost feels like a campaign reset, right?

No one dropped out, but the field has effectively winnowed to 8 candidates: Klobuchar, Buttigieg, Biden, Sanders, Warren, with Yang and Steyer barely hanging on, and Bloomberg looming

LOL, CNN trying to spin this as a Biden win.

It's not that hard to spin it as a Biden win.

Right! The headlines aren't about Biden being fustigated with a fifth place finish - they should be! This is a win for him. He's unwounded by an awful, awful result.

I think one of the lesser mentioned, but important - and worrying - stories out of last night is the much lower than expected turnout. People predicted 2008 numbers or higher, we didn't even hit 2016. And with all these candidates?
