I don't engage the other side in serious debate anymore because they simply do not approach the issues with any sense or pretense of intellectual honesty.

I love a dude who complains about a lack of "intellectual honesty" from the other side then in all seriousness says that the other side of the debate engages in "brownshirt tactics in the streets" and cheered for the baseball shooter in literally his next post in the thread.

It's like that thread where he misquoted some washed up movie star and tried to make it look like the guy wanted to kill Barron Trump in an effort to bait liberals into agreeing with it, and then had five pages of red avatars telling him that the tweet was bad and that he was a moron.

Maybe Bernie and his supporters could learn something if they asked themselves how they managed to alienate a former ally so strongly. If nothing else, it shows why people like me are so skeptical of his ability to enact major reforms requiring lots of allies in government.

I feel sorry for posters for whom this forum is a major part of their lives, but who, for one reason or another, cannot play by the rules here.

There are a number of people who have psychological problems, or are on the Autism spectrum.  I do have sympathy for those folks; they are trying to have a "normal life" with "normal life experiences" and posting here is a way to do that for some here.  If I know someone has "issues" I will overlook people's verbal bombs moreso than I will with someone who has all their faculties but launches personal attacks anyway.

Yeah they could just take your route of gaslighting/harassing the mods every five seconds to distract from the fact you derail and insult all the time. Truly dumb of them!

There's the obvious layer of irony here but something especially ironic about posting "this person is an HP because they said something ghoulish about people who died a tragic premature death" in a thread about said person's tragic premature death.
