BREAKING NEWS
CA, NM Attorneys General Sue Over Pence Border Wall Executive Order

The Attorneys General of California and New Mexico, Xavier Becerra and Hector Balderas, have sued the Pence administration over a recently signed executive order moving forward with plans to build a wall along the Southern border. Becerra and Balderas, both Latinos and Democrats, cited their beliefs that the wall was unethical and unlawful when they launched their suits. Numerous Republicans immediately questioned how the wall was any more unlawful than illegal immigration.

OOC: What were the details of Pence’s healthcare reform? I can’t seem to find anything about it.

Pence, Murkowski and Collins announce new health care initiatives

Mike Pence, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins worked together a package of health care reforms that they think will have a positive effect on the very high costs of medicine.

Mike Pence: "Health care is a very important issue on the minds of a lot of American people and I believe that this legislation will help very much in making health care affordable not just in name but in practice"

The pretty moderate reform package consists of:
1. A requirement to full price transparency from doctors, clinics, hospitals and other health care providers (law proposal)
2. An order to the HHS to do whatever is needed to make the process of approving generic drugs a lot faster and efficient (EO)
3. Banning the tactics of the drug companies to extend patent protection like "pay for delay" (paying generic drugmakers not to produce a drug that has come off of patent protection), "evergreening" (making a change in the original drug and call it a new drug more worthy of patent protection) and simply refusing to give samples to generic drug makers that would allow them to reverse engineer a generic copy (law proposal)
4. Allowing drugs to be imported from other countries with no regulation if they are cheaper than the drugs in the US markets (law proposal)

The Pence Administration plans to submit this proposals to the US Congress once the infrastructure bill gets voted on. A more conservative wish list of the Pence campaign for a second term was also spread around. It includes selling insurance across state lines, tax deductability of premiums, expansion of HSAs, the administration of Medicare through block grants and defunding Planned Parenthood.

This.

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your election update.

Carlson: This week marked by endorsement fever, including a surprising one: the NRA has stated it is backing InfoWars host Alex Jones, a man written off just months ago as "a conspiracy nut," but who is now polling in double digits in the GOP primary.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: That said, tonight we have a special guest, Senator Rand Paul. Senator, how are you tonight?

Paul: Wonderful, Tucker. I've been looking forward to this.

Carlson: Glad to hear it, Senator. Now, you've called repeatedly for the President to abolish wasteful government agencies, often saying you would back his economic legislation if he did. Why do you think the President hasn’t taken you up on this offer?

Paul: Well, first of all, I really want to thank you for allowing me to have a platform to speak here. I truly do appreciate the honor of allowing me to speak openly and honestly to the American people without my political opponents trying to interrupt me every five second, haha. Now, as for the question, I think it's because the President doesn't really want to give me any ground to stand on. If he took my advice on these wasteful government programs being slashed, one could say he was admitting I was right to challenge him on fiscal responsibility. He doesn't want to give me legitimacy as an opponent to him, but my message is growing in support and eventually, he'll have to listen to my ideas, even if he doesn't want to admit it.

Carlson: As a certain 2016 candidate once said, "the establishment is trying to suppress me." Now, you've described the President’s attacks on you on Twitter as “rabid rants.” Does this mean you think he’s unfit to serve?

Paul: Ok, I don't even know how you can consider me saying the president should stop tweeting about his opponents every five minutes to saying he's unfit to serve. I do respect the President on a personal level, so I never attack his character or his mental state, and I made it a rule of my campaign to never do that. I was only saying that if the President wants to tweet so much, he should tweet on his policy, what he's planning to do, and to attack his opponent. Doing that wastes his time, it wastes my time, it wastes everyone's time.

Carlson: Clearly, then, merely a misunderstanding of a strongly worded statement. So, then, if you do become President, what would your first 100 days be like?

Paul: Well, I'm sure you can guess what'll come first. The very first thing I'll do is cut as many wasteful government programs as possible. There are very long, very detailed list on the internet about the tens, if not hundreds, of billions of dollars of spending we waste a year when we could cut the programs that is wasting the money and put it back into the hands of the American people. Then, I'll also pull back on the the foreign wars as, by this point, it has become clear that we're just wasting our time in these countries that don't like us. President Trump had the same message of America First in 2016, so when warmongers attack me and say I don't want to keep America safe, they should remember that the American people are sick of seeing young men and women dying in places they shouldn't be. What comes next will be me pushing for my congressional term limits amendment being passed, a decentralization of the federal government, and a work toward the end of our federal debt until we run a profit, though all this will be years down the line. So, to summarize it, this will be my first 100 days in office : Cut spending, Congressional Term Limits, end to foreign wars.

Carlson: A plan that will most likely be more successful from the Oval Office. Now, before you go, Senator, if you could tell the American people one thing tonight, what would it be?

Paul: Well, if there is anything that I want to make clear with the American people, it's this. I respect the President on a personal level. I always have and always will. It's his policies that I have some disagreement with. However, if there is a major lie spewed by a Democrat against him, I will jump to his defense and I expect my three colleagues to aid me in that endeavor. Should the President win the Republican Presidential Nomination, I will gladly endorse him and support his campaign. As for what the President said about not being willing to support me in the Senate, I think that's fine because I'm already planning on leaving the senate in 2023, by retiring. I made a term limit pledge and I am determined to see it through. Thank you for having me on.

Carlson: Senator, always a pleasure to have you with us.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Tune in on Sunday for our interview with Senator Tammy Baldwin.

Carlson: Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Both: And this has been your Election Update.

Phase II, Turn I: November 2019

As Iowa approaches, the campaigns kick into high gear, with the Democrats determined to break out of the pileup their primary is threatening to become. Meanwhile, President Pence, despite having bested the two Senators who challenged him for the nomination, finds himself on increasingly unsteady ground, with both Ivanka Trump and Alex Jones surging heading into the penultimate month of 2019. However, with a childcare reform vote on the horizon, he is likely hoping to attain a significant win in November which will carry him to outright victory in February and beyond.

Current polling:
Same as it was Saturday (post-Saturday schedules haven't been factored in yet)

RCP Averages of 2019 Gubernatorial Elections

KY-GOV:
Andy Beshear - 48.0%
Matt Bevin (I) - 47.2%

MS-GOV:
Tate Reeves - 50.3%
Jim Hood - 45.0%

LA-GOV:
John Bel Edwards (I) - 49.6%
Ralph Abraham - 48.7%

All November schedules will be due Feb. 17; there will not be a debate this turn (current debate is due Feb. 12).

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your election update.

Carlson: This week marked by the buzz surrounding the 2019 gubernatorial elections, as incumbent governors John Bel Edwards of Louisiana and Matt Bevin of Kentucky struggle to hold their seats, while the race to succeed Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant tightens yet further on the verge of election day.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: That said, tonight we have a special guest, Senator Tammy Baldwin. Senator, how are you tonight?

Baldwin: Good, Tucker. Happy to be here.

Carlson: Glad to hear it, Senator. Now, one of your biggest out-of-state endorsers is Representative Cindy Axne from Iowa’s 3rd congressional district. Do you view a win in Iowa as critical to your campaign’s success?

Baldwin: Iowa is of obvious import, given its first in the nation status, and the fact that it is a state that swung from Obama to Trump. That being said, our campaign follows a 50 state strategy and isn't ready to put all of our eggs in one basket. I'm so grateful for Cindy Axne's endorsement, and that she is chairing the Iowa arm of my campaign. Cindy knows something about beating a Republican incumbent, and her help is so valuable in this race.

Carlson: Experience on the congressional scale helping for a victory on the national. Now, many more moderate members of your party have expressed concern about the general election viability of an ardent progressive such as yourself, citing former Senator George McGovern’s crushing loss to Richard Nixon in 1972. How do you respond to these claims?

Baldwin: I would direct them to my re-election, where I won a swing state by eleven points. The pundit class would have you believe Democrats can only win swing states by hedging on our values, and I'm proof that isn't true. The truth is, Americans want to know where you stand and would rather hear what you truly believe, not a watered-down, focus tested message. I don't find it at all radical to fight for a minimum wage that is a living wage, for billionaires to pay their fair share in taxes, or for healthcare to be recognized as a human right. The truth is, Americans are ready to shake up the status quo that only works for the wealthiest among us, and we can't do that with small ideas, only with a structural change to the broken system.

Carlson: Structural change, coming soon to a capital city near you. So, then, if you do become President, what would your first 100 days be like?

Baldwin: I hope to make Congress a more functional place by making Mitch McConnell the former Majority Leader. Even with that, I know there are limits to the legislating process, so my first 100 days will include executive orders to address pressing issues that can not wait for Congress to act. First, I plan to address the opioid epidemic with a drug task force. This will fundamentally change how our country treats addiction and drug abuse, making it a public health issue, not a criminal one. Next, I will put forward my plan to fight the biggest issue that our world faces, climate change. My climate plan pledges the US to be run by 100% clean energy by 2030, it will require corporations to pay for pollution, and introduce a massive green infrastructure package that not only reduces our emissions but creates good-paying jobs. The last of my major goals for the first 100 days is to tackle an issue that has sadly impacted too many Americans, gun violence. On day one, I will reinstate the Violence Against Women Act and put forward a bill that introduces a universal background check to buy a gun. If Congress refuses to do its job and protect the American people, I will pass this via Executive Order, as it is paramount to our safety.

Carlson: Sometimes the law must be challenged for the betterment of all. Now, before you go, Senator, if you could tell the American people one thing tonight, what would it be?

Baldwin: The one thing I would say to the American people is that now is not the time for small ideas. If Democrats are to beat this President in November, we can't be afraid to stand up for our values. I know many of you are worried about winning; so am I. We cannot let this fear be what runs our campaign. That's not what the freshmen class of House members did last year, and it's not what I did either. How we win is to take our big, bold goals and turn them into action. How we win is to speak directly about the concerns of everyday Americans. That's how I plan on winning, and I hope you'll join me.

Carlson: Senator, always a pleasure to have you with us.

Baldwin: Glad to be here, Tucker.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Tune in on Thursday for our interview with comedian and former TV show host Jon Stewart.

Carlson: Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Both: And this has been your Election Update.

BREAKING NEWS
Baldwin wins second Dem debate; GOP a statistical tie.
Jones narrowly edges Pence in GOP debate, Steyer runner-up in Dem debate

Surveys of 2456 voters (evenly conducted among Democrats and Republicans, with 702 independents) conducted by Gallup found that 51.4% of Republicans and conservative leaning independents believe InfoWars host Alex Jones won last week's Republican presidential debate, while 48.6% said President Mike Pence performed the best. Interestingly, this is within the poll's 4-point margin of error, meaning that Pence may actually have won the debate overall. Jones, however, continued his previously unthinkable rise with another solid debate performance as he moves to become the main challenger to the President.

Among Democrats and liberal-leaning independents, 34% said they most approved of Senator Tammy Baldwin's performance, followed by those of Mr. Tom Steyer (22%), Governor Steve Bullock (19%), and Senator Cory Booker (13%). No other candidate was most supported by more than 10% of voters, although no candidate received an approval rating of their debate performance lower than 75%.

OOC: Per this, come Saturday, Messrs Jones and Pence, as well as Ms. Baldwin, will receive three additional endorsement credits, and Mr. Steyer, will receive two additional credits. Also, these debates were very close, so don't despair if you didn't do as well as you hoped.

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your election update.

Carlson: This week marked by the buzz surrounding the conclusion of the 2019 gubernatorial elections. Republican Tate Reeves and Democrats John Bel Edwards and Andy Beshear winning those races, with the President offering to let them into the Republican Party. Both chose to respectfully decline.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: That said, tonight we have a special guest, Jon Stewart. Mr. Stewart, how are you tonight?

Stewart: Vaguely surprised by the fact I'm on this particular network, but good nonetheless, Tucker.

Carlson: *chuckles* Glad to hear it, Mr. Stewart. Now, you’ve compared the current economic situation in the United States to feudalism. Would you also say that the top 1% wields the level of influence of feudal lords, and, if so, how do you intend to combat them when they inevitably attempt to thwart your progressive agenda?

Stewart: Well let's get one thing straight, I said we're on a track to feudalism, and I stand by it. The wealthy people of this country hide their money in tax havens to avoid paying their taxes. In fact, after 2008, the banks took the bailout money, paid themselves guant bonuses then used the remainder to kill major reform.

How would I get around their opposition? I would take this information to the public. Put it out there for everyone to see. Draw it to their attention. These are the people who are robbing you blind, don't you think they should start paying their upkeep to the nation? I don't care about charity donations because they use that as an escape hatch to get out of paying their taxes. We need to beef up the IRS, give them the staff they need and remind these people that no, paying taxes is not optional.

Carlson: Not only closing the loopholes, but locking them tight. Now, you’ve said that you believe that President Pence “must be one of the shortest-serving Presidents in American history.” Would you, then, support impeaching the President if the matter came up for a serious vote in the House?

Stewart: If he committed an impeachable offence, then absolutely. But regardless, we must do everything we can to ensure his defeat. It's why I signed the 'We Are Indivisible' pledge before I kicked off the campaign. At the same time, we need to win on the right ideas. Democrats should start standing for something other than 'we're less bad than the other guys'.

Carlson: A movement toward become a party people want to vote for. So, then, if you do become President, what would your first 100 days be like?

Stewart: My first priority will be creating an Independent Commission Against Corruption. The task of the commission would be to investigate everyone, and I mean everyone, for instances of corruption. It would root out pay for play schemes, waste and fraud, campaign donations and other forms of corruption. It would make our government more transparent, open and honest. An honest government is something everyone wants, and we're not getting that; I mean when Edward Snowden said 'Hey the Men in Black are spying on you!' The focus was on how the documents were leaked, not on what they meant. I think that the media bears some responsibility for that as well.

Carlson: Fight now for a peaceful tomorrow. Now, before you go, Mr. Stewart, if you could tell the American people one thing tonight, what would it be?

Stewart: Regardless of your opinions, vote for the person who best represents your views. I want tocreate a governemny that is honest and transparent. I want to reform our tax system to make sure it's fairer to our middle and working classes . I want to invest into public education and universal healthcare. If you don't feel I represent your views best, that's fine. But if you don't votefor what you believe in, then you're always going to regret it.

Carlson: Jon Stewart, always a pleasure to have you with us.

Stewart: Thanks for having me on, Tucker.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Tune in on Saturday for our interview with New Jersey Senator Cory Booker.

Carlson: Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Both: And this has been your Election Update.

PHASE II, TURN II: December 2019

A new month sees a new scene unfolding in a campaign straight off the big screen. In the Democratic primary, activist and hedge fund manager Tom Steyer surges into the lead with the backing of Congressman Seth Moulton. Despite this, however, Steyer's other opponents seem to have no intention of giving up, and the polls remain close enough for many of them to remain viable. Meanwhile, on the Republican side, a seeming petering out of the Trump campaign has left a two-man race in its wake: on the one side, backed by a growing number of important figures, President Mike Pence; on the other, a proud right-wing agitator with an axe to grind against the political establishment, Alex Jones. While Jones trails, many of his supporters point to his momentum, which they say will put him past the President by February. Only time will tell...

Current Polling:

Democrats
Tom Steyer - 20%
Stacey Abrams - 17%
Kirsten Gillibrand - 12%
Amy Klobuchar - 11%
Cory Booker - 8%
Tammy Baldwin - 8%
Steve Bullock - 7%
Jeff Merkley - 6%
Jon Stewart - 2%
Others - 0%
Undecided - 9%

Republicans
Mike Pence - 49%

Alex Jones - 21%
Ivanka Trump - 20%
Jim Jordan - 1%
Undecided - 8%

Libertarians
Austin Petersen - 68%
Other - 25%
Undecided - 7%

Schedules for December will be due Feb. 24. There will be a debate released Feb. 21, which will be due Feb. 28.

Cory Booker announced in a press conference his withdrawal from the Democratic presidential primary race, announcing an endorsement of front-runner Tom Steyer. Cory Booker has struggled in most early state polls, excluding South Carolina, and, despite gains in polling in recent months, has not captured national momentum that would have potentially made him viable in crucial states like Iowa and New Hampshire. He went onto to announce that he would focus on his 2020 re-election bid to Senate, continuing his no corporate money pledge going into it, and he would pledge to campaign "his heart out for" whoever the Democratic nominee is.

(this has been a great game, and I thank DatGottTho for putting so much effort into it and responding to all of my questions, but I simply don't have the time nor enthusiasm to continue the game.)

Got it. Thanks for playing, man!

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your election update.

Carlson: This week marked by the dropouts of Congressman Seth Moulton and Senator Cory Booker, both of whom endorsed billionaire activist Tom Steyer, who is beginning to emerge as a potential frontrunner in a still-crowded field.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: That said, tonight we have a special guest, President Mike Pence. Mr. President, how are you tonight?

Pence: Good, Tucker. Happy to be here. Thanks so much for having me.

Carlson: Glad to have you here, Mr. President. Now, you recently introduced a reformed version of the tax plan that narrowly failed in the House earlier this year. What changes have you made that you believe will convince moderate Democrats to support it?

Pence: Well, this current tax plan is roughly the direction which we were taking with the previous bill. What we wanted to do was achieve it in 2 or 3 steps such as to make the transition to this brand new code easier. However, our efforts were misunderstood by many as a giveaway to the rich and the corporations. This new bill is very clearly, without any shadow of the doubt, not anything of the sort. I think this bill is more clear about what it intends to achieve - a fairer and simpler tax code, better for the Americans who are not very rich and fighting the methods used by billionaires to avoid paying taxes. Also, I think that the lobby reform passed this year will have a big effect, as they can not rule over Congress anymore, and the Representatives are listening more and more to the people, their constituents, who are in favor of this bill. The moderate Democrats saw that this Administration is more inclined to work across the aisle and bring forward a common sense agenda including many of their own priorities then the radical leftists or the swampists like Steyer are willing to accept different opinions inside their very own party. I know that the Democratic Koch or Chief Swampist is back at it again, bribing and blackmailing and threatening Representatives, but in the end the people will prevail, and this man should be investigated and thrown into prison for his actions.

Carlson: And soon we'll find out if those Democrats are willing to work across the aisle. Now, your only major remaining opponent is InfoWars host Alex Jones. What do you believe his rise says about the Republican Party?

Pence: Well, people can argue about many things related to Alex Jones, but one thing I think we can all see is how much the Republican Party is drifting away from the establishment and the swamp and is not willing to take their crap anymore. Think about this - Alex Jones is now higher than 2 US Senators were at any point during their failed candidacies, and I, the President who in less than 10 months has significantly cleaned this mess of a government while passing an agenda benefiting the people tremendously, am winning by a lot. Now, returning to Jones, I think he has severe flaws as a candidate, but the fact that he and not other, more expected establishment candidate is my lead opponent is remarkable.

Carlson: Draining the swamp now a hallmark of the Republican Party. Now, several pundits have noted you’ve “done a personality 180” since becoming President, effecting many of former President Trump’s mannerisms. Would you agree with this assessment, and, if so, was there any particular reason why?

Pence: Look, for most of my political career, I have done a lot of work for the people behind the scenes. I thought that actual results will always beat public perception, and I still do. However, I am the President of the United States, and our country is dealing with some severe crises, as such I can not afford to be silent. I need to be a vocal leader for the country and I need to build a movement to fight the swamp, because public opposition is the only thing which can stop it, more than I alone could ever do. So, to answer your direct question, I would not say that I changed my personality, but that I did what it had to be done for the good of the country.

Carlson: Sacrifices must be made in times of crisis. Now, before you go, Mr. President, as the primaries approach, if you could tell the American people one thing tonight, what would it be?

Pence: My fellow Americans, I want you to think very carefully about the choice that you are about to make just a few days from now. On one side, you have me, a President who has been fighting for you since day 1 in politics, who was with President Trump at every move, even when things were tough and now is fighting to preserve his legacy. On another side, you have an extreme, untested candidate, who not only will lose the general election in a landslide and potentially allow some swampist from the Democrat Party or even Tom Steyer into the White House, but if he will win he will not be able to accomplish anything and will drag the Republican Party with him into the mud. Why would we do that, when this Administration has showed that it can accomplish revolutionary things and improve the life of everyday Americans even with a Democrat, swampist House and a Senate with people like Paul and Portman. We have advanced the agenda of President Trump, like affordable childcare, paid family leave, building the wall, restricting immigration, take down regulations, rebuilding the infrastructure, affordable drugs and obviously, tax cuts for lower and middle class Americans. If we continue on this path, we will drain the swamp and Make America Great Again, once and for all. Thank you, God bless you and God bless the USA.

Carlson: Mr. President, always a pleasure to have you with us.

Pence: Likewise, Tucker.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Tune in Sunday night when we go over the latest key polls, as Quinnipiac and Reuters hint at releasing general election polls.

Carlson: Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Both: And this has been your Election Update.

THIRD DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
(all images below are from Wikimedia Commons)

Cooper: Good evening. I'm Anderson Cooper, and I'll be moderating this third Democratic presidential debate in Houston, Texas. I'm here with...

...former Georgia State House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams...

...US Senator from Wisconsin Tammy Baldwin...

...Montana Governor Steve Bullock...

...US Senator from New York Kirsten Gillibrand...

...US Senator from Minnesota Amy Klobuchar...

...US Senator from Oregon Jeff Merkley...

...billionaire activist Tom Steyer...

...and former TV host Jon Stewart.

Cooper: Candidates will give an opening statement, answer one specific question, and give a closing statement. Responses and statements will be judged on clarity, length, and, of course, votes from the audience and you, the viewers across the nation. So, without further ado, let's start.

Specific Questions

To Ms. Abrams: With Senator Booker dropping out and Mr. Yang not qualifying for this debate, you are the only person of color on this stage. Does this concern you with regards to the direction the party is taking?

To Senator Baldwin: You have stated that you want to quote "get money out of politics" in a tweet lamenting Senator Booker's withdrawal from the race. With this in mind, does Mr. Steyer's current lead in the polls concern you at all?

To Governor Bullock: You have stated that a key part of your strategy to win the Democratic nomination is New Hampshire, as evidenced by your endorsement from Senator Maggie Hassan. However, just four years ago, Senator Bernie Sanders, a candidate on the opposite end of the party to you, won New Hampshire by more than 20 points. How do you intend to overcome this seemingly whopping majority of progressive support?

To Senator Gillibrand: You've been endorsed by both NARAL Pro-Choice America and Planned Parenthood. What do you think about your candidacy has so encouraged the support of these two organizations, which have become symbols of the battle for a woman's right to choose?

To Senator Klobuchar: You've been endorsed by the League of United Latin American Citizens in recent days. Do you believe that driving up Latino turnout could be a critical part of the Democratic strategy to take back the White House?

To Senator Merkley: You've stated that you believe that a strategy that works more to motivate the party base will win back the White House from the Republicans. What do you say to those who want to tack more to the middle to win back swing voters?

To Mr. Steyer: Following endorsements from Congressman Moulton and Senator Booker, you appear to have taken the lead in the polls. How do you respond to those who are concerned you would be a weaker general election candidate, due to the ease with which the President can cast you as an out-of-touch coastal elite?

To Mr. Stewart: You have said that you would create an independent commission to tackle corruption. How would you ensure that said commission would itself remain independent and unbiased?

THIRD REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
(all images below are from Wikimedia Commons)

Ingraham: Good evening. I'm Laura Ingraham, and I'll be moderating this third Republican presidential debate in Richmond, VA. I'm here with...

...InfoWars host Alex Jones...

...US Representative from Ohio Jim Jordan...

...and President Mike Pence.

Ingraham: Candidates will give an opening statement, answer one specific question, and give a closing statement. Responses and statements will be judged on clarity, length, and, of course, votes from the audience and you, the viewers across the nation. So, without further ado, let's start.

Specific Questions

To Mr. Jones: You have now become the most significant primary challenger to President Pence, and have stated that the cause of this is that "more and more Americans are finally taking the red pill." How do you intend to extend this trend beyond Republicans if you are the nominee?

To Congressman Jordan: You were one of President Trump's most ardent supporters when he was in office; why, then, do you feel that President Pence is worth defeating in the primaries?

To President Pence: Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia recently stated at one of your rallies that "the only reason the President isn't winning every matchup with a Democrat by 20 points is the lies prattled off by the liberal blogosphere." Would you agree with this assessment, and, if not, what do you believe is the cause for the relatively close current polling for the general election?

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your election update.

Carlson: This week marked by the dropout of Senator Amy Klobuchar, who endorsed her colleague Kirsten Gillibrand, potentially cutting into Tom Steyer's momentum, particularly in the state of Nevada.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: And we have breaking news tonight as Quinnipiac and Reuters have released a jointly performed general election poll just six weeks before the Iowa caucuses. And what a tale it tells.

Abrams vs. Pence
Stacey Abrams - 48%
Mike Pence - 47%

Baldwin vs. Pence
Mike Pence - 50%
Tammy Baldwin - 46%

Bullock vs. Pence
Steve Bullock - 48%
Mike Pence - 46%

Gillibrand vs. Pence
Mike Pence - 49%
Kirsten Gillibrand - 47%

Steyer vs. Pence
Mike Pence - 50%
Tom Steyer - 46%

Levin: One of the big surprises here being that two of the main frontrunners, Tom Steyer and Kirsten Gillibrand, seem to struggle against the President. When asked to explain the differences, Reuters produced a survey specifically for those who said they would vote for a given Democrat in one scenario and the President in another.
Generally, the most common reason cited was Bullock's seeming willingness to work across the aisle, while many voters who chose not to support Steyer complained of his continued insistence that the Pence tax legislation was a handout to the rich, despite the President's repeated insistence (as verified by Politifact) that there were no active tax breaks for the wealthy. Baldwin, on the other hand, was identified as "too far left" by more than 50% of voters who said they would vote for Bullock but not for her.

Ms. Abrams, meanwhile, largely benefited from the support of moderate members of minority groups, who often would vote for Pence if the nominee were anyone else. One man, who agreed to be interviewed by Fox News and fits into this category, stated "it's time for us to have a President that I can show to my daughter and say 'That can be you,' and she'll believe me."

Carlson: Emotional stuff, that, but will it pay off when the primaries begin? Regardless, that will be all for tonight. Tune in next time when we bring you the latest election news. Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Both: And this has been your Election Update.

BREAKING NEWS
McCONNELL THREATENS TO BLOCK PENCE TAX BILL AS PRESIDENT ENDORSES HAMPTON AGAINST HIM

Following President Pence's decision to endorse Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton for U.S. Senate in Kentucky, the Majority Leader fired back, threatening to "decimate" the President's latest tax reform bill, set to face the Senate just before the holiday recess. Many believe that this could kill the bill, as McConnell's threats have raised the specter of other insurgents against the Pence administration also voting against the bill, quite possibly killing it on "friendly turf" before it even has the chance to reach the House floor. Senators Paul and Portman refused to comment for this story.

BREAKING NEWS
McCONNELL CLAIMS HE "EASILY HAS THE VOTES" TO KILL PENCE TAX BILL IF HE IS REMOVED FROM MAJORITY LEADER POSITION

Responding to President Pence's threat to remove him as Majority Leader, Senator Mitch McConnell claimed he "easily" has the votes to defeat the President's tax bill, though he refused to release any names "so as to protect them from President Peeve's torrent of tweeted rabid ravings." McConnell has stated he will "naturally stand down if the President does," but that "my cynicism toward the President regaining his sense grows with every passing day." No Senators were willing to comment for this story, other than McConnell.
