We learned at school that Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria build Central Europe.

Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, and Western Russia build Eastern Europe.

I haven't voted yet, but to me Central Europe is most closely associated with the non-Balkan parts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, excluding its easternmost reaches.

We refer to ourselves as "Middle Europe".
