Finding women breastfeeding babies sexually arousing does not indicate any sexual interest in children, even if that's the only thing you really find sexually interesting. I do not speak from personal experience here.

Jordan Peterson is wrong sometimes but is generally a good psychologist.

He's also generally a huge douchebag even not taking his views into account.

I didn't realize this was an unpopular opinion until recently. but if I had to name something positive about slavery, it would be that without it my girlfriend's ancestors would never have been in the US and as such we wouldn't be together right now.

Part of why this opinion might be unpopular is because it is worded rather badly. This isn't "something positive about slavery". It is something positive about the fact that your girlfriend exists, and she would probably not have existed without slavery, but that does not mean slavery itself has any positive aspects.

Similarly, I would definitely not have been born if the Nazis had not taken power in Germany and subsequently annexed Austria, as the latter event led my grandfather to flee to the Netherlands and, later on, to meet my grandmother. This isn't something "positive" about Nazism or the Anschluß, though, and it would be in extraordinarily poor taste to formulate it as such.
Yes, I'm not always the best at wording things. The bolded part is exactly what I meant, and I obviously apologize if anyone thought otherwise.

The most recent Republican president who was not a racist was Dwight D Eisenhower.

Ford was racist?
And HW Bush?  The evidence I've seen is the opposite: that no Republican president in that time was a racist.  Nixon was a big supporter of civil rights legislation and was good friends with Sammy Davis, even if he used some racially insensitive language in his private life.  And Reagan and Bush 2 both hired blacks to high positions (Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Samuel Pierce, etc.)  It was also Bush 1 that appointed Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court.

Nixon hated Jewish people lmao. He was extremely racist.
No, he did not hate Jews.  He hired many Jews for his administration, including Ben Stein and Henry Kissinger.  And he developed a strong friendship with Sammy Davis.  The things he said on tape were no worse than the things said by LBJ, FDR, or Truman in their private conversations, nor was it worse than the casual racism and anti-Semitism of that time.

You're basically saying that because he had black and Jewish friends, he couldn't have been racist.

Listen to the tapes, dude. Pretty much everyone who was against him was a "ing Jew."

Oh and he let Sammie Davis hug him clearly the man held no racial prejudice whatsoever *eyes roll out of head*
Another thing for you kids to remember: Mayor Daley hurled similar slurs at Abe Ribicoff (who was Jewish) during the DNC in 1968, had numerous scandals as bad as Watergate or worse, and did everything he could to make life in Chicago a living nightmare for blacks.  Why is he a hero while Nixon is pure evil?  Could it be because Daley was a Democrat and Nixon a Republican?  I'm just asking...
Daley was scum, and I don't think Nixon was evil.

You imply he was evil by smearing him like you do.  You cannot be a good person and a bigot at the same time.

Anyway, I'm not listening to this nonsense anymore, because it's clear that neither of you wants to take an objective look at the facts.  So allow me to change subject by listing another unpopular opinion, prompted by a poll on the Individual Politics board:

Sam Brownback was a good governor for Kansas.

Actually, I didn't even say I thought he was a bigot. I was somewhat mocking the idea that he couldn't have been racist because he had black or Jewish friends, because that's a silly argument. His early support for civil rights leads me to believe he did in fact not have racist views, at least towards blacks.
