I wonder what Sessions thinks about all of this.

Probably he's preoccupied with trying to avoid being carted off to the big house himself.

Well, if there's one thing this thread has accomplished, it's highlighting all of the deplorables, twats, and trolls I should have on ignore.

Horrible. He should withdraw and crawl into a hole. Hypocrite. Predator. Never a US Senator.

My respect for you just bounced tenfold. Thank you for having decency in an era so unacceptably bereft of it.

Strange hopping in would end Moore once and for all. So, as far as I'm concerned, Godspeed to Big Luther.

Call me a raging social justice warrior snowflake, but I really think that everyone I see in this thread using yesterday's news as a prop to continue their ridiculous, bourgeois elitist circlejerk about states like Alabama and West Virginia are really not much better than Moore.

In other words, I'm calling IceSpear a wanker.

This line of thinking is actually a rationalization that people will use to justify voting for Roy Moore. I don’t think you’re totally cognizant of that.

Then they're welcome to be assholes. Let's not stray from the issue at hand. My point is that anyone who thinks that the most objectionable thing about Moore's pedophilia is "snerk snerk bama white trash hicks" is a rape-enabling twat, no matter how Alabama ultimately votes.

But hey, maybe I'm just a snowflake after all. Who knows.

Yes, making fun of pedophiles is certainly bourgeois and elitist. If they elect this chomo they'll deserve every bit of mockery that's been thrown their way. This isn't a case of "hur dur look at those stupid hicks in flyover country". If the allegations are true, then he's actually a literal child molester.

I have to question when I ever suggested that making fun of pedophiles is the issue here. The issue here, largely, is IceSpear, who doesn't even seem to care about the actual crime Moore committed. For him, it's all a big joke about the white trash. It's all fun, games, and bourgeois chicanery.

But by all means, feel free to keep misreading the intent of my posts if it helps you ignore the elephant's asshole in the room.

People who vote for Moore and allow him to become a U.S. Senator would be enabling that kind of behavior too. The people of Alabama and 46% of the American electorate have already decided that sexual predation is not a disqualifying trait for a Republican, and if you don’t see that as a problem with society as a whole, then I fundamentally disagree with you.

Of course it's a problem with society as a whole. That's the issue at hand, for Christ's sake, because IceSpear is a part of it. He could be the left-wing representation of it. To him - and not just him, believe me - this whole thing is just a big joke, and an excuse to attack people he doesn't like.

"Someone on the internet made a mean comment about me, so I guess I'll have to vote for the pedophile now."

Tell me when I suggested that, smartass.

If Moore wins next month are you all going to apologize and say you were wrong about your faith in Alabama?

Yes, but I'll be delivering that apology to you, not the rape-downsizing troll. That a deal?

Can we please avoid another fight about IceSpear's opinion of places like AL/WV?

Seriously. Make a new thread or drop it.

Mod Mom has spoken. Consider it dropped. Tongue

http://www.businessinsider.com/poll-alabama-senate-race-roy-moore-doug-jones-2017-11

And the race is tied at 46% according to new polling. 82% of respondents have heard of the allegations.

And this is why I still have hope. If this poll is remotely true, it means that Jones has jumped quite a bit ahead of the typical 40% ceiling.

Also, Democrats deserve to lose if they don't hang Roy Moore around the neck of every single remotely vulnerable Republican in 2018. Use the Pelosi strategy on steroids.

On this, I agree with both of you. Moore would be instantly radioactive in any other state.

New Gravis poll out soon.

I think this is winnable now for Jones.

Read Arkansas Yankee's posts and you'll gain a valuable insight into the mind of the median Alabama voter

Explain Alabama_Indy's take on this matter, then.

Does Alabama have the death sentence for pedophiles or serial rapists? Or does that only apply to black people?

Not a death penalty guy, but here we see why mvd is one of the Atlas' best conservatives. I'm glad at least one blue avatar (that isn't YoungCon or Indy) has their head on completely straight when it comes to Moore.

And there it is. There's the proof that this is way closer to Akingate than it is to Access Hollywood.

^ The Senate is only in play if Moore actually loses, or if Phil Bredesen runs in TN. Ceiling is 50-50 otherwise; Dems don't have a strong candidate in UT and thinking TX will flip is silly.

Not really, no. UT and MS could certainly become competitive, maybe TX as well (though that is unlikely). And the average voter is not a political junkie, lol.

So the literal city councilwoman that dems are nominating in Utah is going to beat Hatch/Romney? ROFL

If Hatch retires and Romney runs, it's over. But if Hatch runs again, all bets are off, because he's even less popular with the Utah base than Trump was last year.

lol, is Moore trying to lose this?

That could be the epitaph on the gravestone of his political career.

Can we talk about how Hannity's advertisers are apparently taking a mass exodus in light of his defense of Moore?

Christ, let this thing take both of them down. Let me have that much, God.

I do not think it will stay tied.  It will either be Jones +15ish (Akin/Vitter scenario) or Moore +5ish (Trump/Gianforte scenario).

It isn't out of the question, but I doubt if Alabama is very likely to give us a Joneslide even if the Moore allegations hit critical mass. At this point, my most optimistic guess is Jones +5, riding heavily on depressed evangelical turnout.

John Cornyn has pulled his support from Moore:

This leaves just Cruz and Paul.

Watch Cruz stick with him until the end. I legitimately wouldn't be surprised if he's guilty of the same shenanigans as Moore.

In any case, I think the ball might finally be in Jones' court. The signature is a fatal blow.

If allegations about Cruz surface, O'Rourke wins.

There are already allegations floating about that paint Cruz as being one of those creepy alpha male types in college. He's just the type to do something like this.

So is IceSpear still screaming "LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU" with his fingers stuck in his ears? I can't tell, I have him on Ignore and I have no plans to take him back off.
