It’s curious to me Baker hasn’t announced yet.

I mean if he wants to stay in politics what else is he going to do? Nothing.

We all know he’s running again so just announce it...

Baker/Healey: Likely Republican
Baker/Kennedy: Tossup
Baker/Chang-Diaz: Likely Republican
Baker/Allen: Safe Republican
Polito/Healey: Lean Democrat
Polito/Kennedy: Safe Democrat
Politio/Chang-Diaz: Lean Democrat
Politio/Allen: Likely Republican
Diehl/Healey: Safe Democrat
Diehl/Kennedy: TITANIUM Democrat
Diehl/Chang-Diaz: Likely Democrat
Diehl/Allen: Lean Democrat

Lmaooooo at Kennedy being two ratings more favorable than Healey against both Baker and Polito. You are such an unapologetic hack; I almost respect it.

I mean the only thing some parts of Massachusetts like more than a nonconfrontational Yankee Republican governor is a Kennedy. I don't think its hard to imagine Kennedy winning, but it is hard to see him entering and risking it if Baker remains popular and runs for reelection.

Trump endorses Deihl for MA Governor. If Baker runs for reelection then this could work in his favor - it allows him to easily run away from Trump and get Indies to vote for Baker in the R primary. If he doesn't run, then I expect this to give Deihl the nom over Polito and therefore had the race to the Dems.

Quite the contrary, Trump's endorsement makes or breaks primaries, even in deep blue states. I expect Diehl to win the Republican Primary, even if Baker runs for another term, and in any event, I now expect Baker to announce that he won't be running for reelection any day now.

Except it is the Indies - not the R's - who decide victors in MA. Baker never was reliant on primary R voters anyway. These indies are likely to have voted for Biden. Only if turnout is piss-poor and the primary is a truly partisan affair do the die hards have a majority.

Why, though?

Why not? He’s a young, qualified candidate would have have as good a chance as any. I don’t know anything about him other than what’s on his wikipedia page, but unless he’s got some skeletons I’m not aware of, he seems like a fine candidate.

Sorry. Nothing against Eric Lesser. I just don't see the point of running for LG when it's a crowded field already.

You basically have zero responsibilities, it pays $120K, and it's a decent launching pad for higher office if desired. So of course everyone is looking at getting into said race.
