Call me crazy, but I don't think Hatch is a shoo-in. He's pretty unpopular, seen as a career politician who should step aside. If Democrats nominate Jim Matheson rather than a transgender grocery store worker like they did last year, the seat could be in play.

Matheson wouldn't be a sacrificial lamb. He'd put the seat into play. Hatch is a pretty weak incumbent because people think it's time for someone new, and Matheson is a juggernaut.

It's Utah. Hatch owns the seat until he leaves or is defeated in a primary. No democrat is kicking him out.
