I'm getting big "secretly a ticket already" vibes from these Gaetz/MTG rallies.

They're my pick to win the GOP primary if Trump doesn't run, and will then be crushed by Biden.

Yeah, I'm all for hoping the other side picks an unelectable ticket but one consisting of Gaetz and MTG would be hugely damaging to the country.

A 1/6 sequel feels inevitable at this point. I wouldn't see it coming from a ticket that's not schizophrenic 1776 fanatics, unfortunately.

I would agree if I wasn't confident that Gaetz will be locked up by 2024.

Looking at you, Merrick Garland...

This thread's recent talk is activating some 'nice' flashbacks to 2015 of Democratic hopes for a certain bumbling fool to end up being the Republican nominee so that Hillary could easily crush him. Did the totality of everything over these last 6 years really somehow manage to not force us to learn our lesson on that? Let's please not go through that again, shall we?

Not talking about MTG/Gaetz' legitimate chances to win a GOP primary is going to change 0 minds either way.

Acknowledging said candidates as threats and inspiring people to gather around less...insane...candidates is a smart move. People did not do this in 2016 or else it would've been Clinton vs. Cruz.

Cory Booker "doesn't know" if he ever wants to run for President again, expects Biden to run in 2024, and for Kamala to support him.

Pence just has to push ads looping 1/6 footage over the audio calling for his hanging (with eventual footage of Biden taking office) and he'll at least give Trump a contested convention.

I'm feeling a Revenge of the Silver Fox arc here.

Pence would fail spectacularly and all the anti-Trump Republicans will be extinct by 2024.

I wouldn't go that far. Worst case scenario they have SAM or the Libertarian Party to run to, grow quickly with the tens of millions of dollars they'll bring, and make it a viable third party. GOP cannot win an Insert 2028 Dem vs. DeSantis (for example) vs. Anti-Trump Republican election. That's the best part of the Trump/QAnon community's dream; they really don't understand how elections work.

Or we're all killed in the coup, who knows.

We're really gonna go down the QAnon 1/6 civil war-lite route, aren't we.

The Libertarian Party has its first potential candidate, "Part of the Problem" Podcast host Dave Smith.

Smith calls out Jo Jorgensen, claiming that she should've taken a larger anti-mandate, anti-lockdown approach.

If I'm Trump, I announce tomorrow morning.

Kabul will go down as a 2nd Benghazi, politically-speaking. Difference is, Trump wasn't running against Hillary or Obama, and that does NOT help Biden.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson "won't rule out" a Presidential campaign, has been researching how it would operate.

The Hill's got a list of ten people who could run if Biden doesn't.

In addition to the usual suspects like Harris, Buttigeig, AOC, Booker, Abrams and Klobuchar, The Hill also name drops Gavin Newsom, Roy Cooper and Mitch Landrieu.

Got a feeling Landrieu will be Atlas' next Neil Abercrombie.

Just like Nina Turner did two weeks ago, Marianne Williamson gives a no comment on whether she’d challenge Biden for the Dem. nomination:

https://www.politico.com/news/2022/01/01/progressives-2024-primary-challenge-526299

Quote
Williamson, a self-help author who dropped out of the 2020 presidential campaign before the first caucuses, said “I think the president will definitely face a challenger in 2024 ... The yearning to make government actually work for the people again is so intense now, and yes, absolutely, someone will emerge to make a stand for it.”

She did not respond to a question about whether she would consider running against Biden.

She "joined" The People's Party, no?

Yang doesn't have presidential aspirations anymore since he knows he can't get elected. People are bigoted towards him and his message, so he didn't get far in either election. The Forward Party nominee will probably be Cuban, Amash, Gabbard, or Williamson.
If Cuban wanted to run, he'd do it as a true independent like Perot 92. Amash would run as a Libertarian. Williamson as a Dem, Green, or with the People's Party. Gabbard is the only one I could see running with the Forward Party, but I could see her also running as Dem (who isn't in the debate stage) or with her fellow grifters in the People's Party.

With how weak the engagement is on social media, I'm pretty sure TFP will be disbanded by 2024.

People's Party will probably be one of Williamson and Gabbard. Unsure if Cuban ever runs.

With Stein entering, I think this might be the largest amount of relatively popular candidates the US has ever had for a Presidential election, if it holds:

Biden/DNC nominee
Trump/RNC nominee
No Labels nominee
Libertarian nominee
Jill Stein/GNC nominee
Cornel West (IND)
RFK Jr. (IND)
Afroman (IND)
Claudia De La Cruz (PSL)
