AZ Central is reporting that Jim Lamon, the chairman of the solar energy company Depcom Power, is considering seeking the Republican nomination. He's apparently close to the state's Republican apparatus and launched a conservative voter registration group to support Trump. No word on if he can/will self-fund.

Given the state he represents, the coalition he needs to win, and what his Republican opponent's campaign will probably look like, immigration is probably the right issue for Kelly to be rhetorically moderate on.

Hearing through the DC rumor mill that Mark Brnovich's campaign is apparently in serious trouble: struggling to raise money, dropped by his pollster, unable to get on the air.

McConnell super PAC pulling out of Arizona.

UPDATE: They've only canceled half of their buy, still not a vote of confidence but not pulling out entirely.

I feel like all I ever see is the GOP pulling spending from competitive races. Are they actually spending money anywhere? Where's it all going?

They have to drop $28M on a race that shouldn’t even be in play because someone can’t fundraise or campaign for s**t.

Perfect example of how bad candidates can damage the party beyond the race they are running in.

Side note: Republicans have a great bench in Ohio and it's not every day that a Senate seat is just up for grabs. Why and how did the field get whittled down to Vance, Mandel, and Dolan? Seems bizarre to me. Same thing happened in Pennsylvania. Surely there was some House rep or row officer who was sufficiently Trumpy.

Probably a mix of a) not having the energy or general wherewithal to run in/raise money for a competitive primary where defeat was a very real prospect and the endorsement of one man could end the campaign virtually overnight and b) the Senate in its current form being an incredibly unappealing place to work, as we saw in various news stories earlier in the cycle.

Please don't bar me from the Democratic Party.

Her saying "for alleged individualists you are VERY mob-like!" after being boo'd by a group of college libertarians was an all-time great.

McConnell appears to really not want to deal with Masters in the Senate ($5 mil is nothing for SLF and they posted stunning fundraising numbers just this morning, though much of it was likely earmarked).
