Does anybody with a better knowledge of Illinois politics know what impact a Bernie Sanders endorsement of Biss in the final month would do to the primary race? Biss is trying hard to align himself with that sector of the party, and the 2016 primary was only a narrow win for HRC in IL.

I do wonder if such a boneheaded (yet incredibly brave) political move is part of an exit strategy for Kennedy who is now third in fundraising and likely trailing Biss in internal polling.

A Kennedy endorsement of Biss mixed with an aforementioned Sanders endorsement could make this an incredibly interesting primary. Defeating Pritzker would send a major sign to Democratic leadership nationwide.

I wouldn't be surprised if progressive leaders swoop in during the final weeks to prop up Biss, not necessarily to topple Pritzker but possibly to demonstrate the power of the wing of the party.

If this image takes hold, Pritzker could lose the primary.

Perhaps Rauner sees Biss as a weaker GE opponent in general, or has oppo on Biss dangerous enough to ruin his candidacy post-primary.

Or he just wants the GE to be two anti-Madigan candidates.

I would imagine the pro-Pritzker argument is that he is the only candidate with the wealth to face Rauner and his candidacy will allow national Democrats to spend elsewhere.

Pritzker is a landmine.

Here is a piece about "Victory Research" - the polling firm reportedly behind this poll.
