Do we really need another squad member?

We need about 430 more. Also anyone remember when a bunch of freshmen republicans tried to make their own “squad” a few months back?

You need an ideological balance...you need Blue Dogs and Squad.

I want to see Nina Turner clash with Nicole Malliotakis over policing in the House.

By "Blue Dogs" do you mean people who prioritize corporate/special interests over the interests of ordinary people? If that's the case, I want as few of those people as possible.

It is no longer Turner's race to lose. Shame on Hillary.

Incumbent Congressman Eliot Engel agrees.

Yikes! Looks like this race is closing, and fast!

But it remains to be seen how many voters decided during the closing stretch of this campaign - last year’s Democratic presidential primaries had many states where at least 40% of primary voters decided during the final few days before their state’s primaries, which is what allowed Biden to dominate when he racked up all those endorsements. If this primary has tons of late deciders, then Brown may very well outperform expectations and perhaps win; if late deciders are only a small slice of the overall electorate, then Turner should be fine.

Let me remind everyone that in Montana's 2018 Democratic House primary, John Heenan took an early lead when his stronghold of Yellowstone County came in early, but Kathleen Williams captured the lead when her stronghold of Gallatin County came in later and she eventually won that contest overall. So for this race, because only a small percentage of the expected vote has been reported as of this moment, anything is still possible in terms of the outcome.

So this is yet another example of corporate/establishment Democrats rushing to stack the deck in favor of their preferred candidate. Similar things happened in races like PA-SEN 2016, IA-SEN 2020, ME-SEN 2020, NC-SEN 2020, among others. In the aforementioned races, the establishment-coronated candidates turned out to be terrible in campaigning during the general election, running consultant-driven campaigns instead of genuinely standing for concrete things policy wise, which I believe contributed to them either losing outright or losing by a few points more than they otherwise would have. For this race, I know Brown isn’t anywhere near as bad as Manchin/Sinema, but I’m not sure how much of a fighter she would be once in Congress, so if Turner wants a rematch against Brown in 2022, I’m all for that. It should also be noted that Cori Bush was instrumental in getting the Biden administration to resume its current eviction moratorium, which begs the question of whether this moratorium would still be in place had Lacy Clay succeeded in holding off Bush in 2020...

The AP has just called VA-04 for McClellan:
