I think Biden wins Southern black voters for a similar reason that Hillary was winning them in 2008/2016; he's more tested and seems more likely to win the general (just based on polling).

Joe Biden.

Vast majority of black Dems were for Hillary big time in 2007/early 2008 even with Obama there. He was able to persuade them winning lily white Iowa and being a fantastic orator. I just don't see that for Booker. And he's not married which will turn off conservative blacks in the South.

But ol' Joe's only gotten better as a candidate and almost developed a "teflon layer" now. He has the strongest connection to Obama as well.
