The 80s for the US from what I understand. Strong economy and the most freedom. The 50s and 60s had no civil rights and the Vietnam war. The 70s had a bad economy. From the 00s on, freedoms have been cut I think.

Really for the US it's a tossup between the 80s and 90s, but I think I'll give the slight edge to the 80s.

For Spain, I'd actually say the 00s however. The 50s, 60s and 70s are disqualified because fascist dictatorship. The 2010s saw a bad economy, and also a bit of freedom loss I think.

The 80s and 90s are good contenders, but the economy was atrocious in both decades, except for at the end of the 90s. The 00s did start to see freedoms restricted however but I think it was minor enough that I can overlook it.
