I think I am in support of this bill but this definitely needs amendments if it wants to be passed and I would be in favour of them.

Remember this only decriminalizes the escape itself. If found, they can still be sent back to prison and prosecuted for any extra crimes they made

Well, after a quick research, I looked into this and it seems that the current penalty for federal prison escapes is 5 years, and can be shorter under certain circumstances (I think crimes made by minors?)

I think the exception in current laws is a rather narrow one that can be scrapped (plus I guess it doesn't affect current prisoners? I have absolutely no idea how the US / Atlasia work on this kind of stuff), so I will still vote for this even if it is not a great bill by now.

Honestly should have objected while I still had time.
