This is where we're headed in the future if Kennedy doesn't do the right thing.
there is literally no doubt that this would be struck down by courts

Who made this?!

Well Cohn had it in the NYT piece as a strawman to show how harsh the Pubs could be with the map. However, if I was to guess who made it, it was probably Dave Wasserman since he and 538 are coming out with a bunch of scenarios in all 50 states soon. On the other hand, perhaps I am blind, and can't see a author on the page.

Thanks.

Giving the sh!tty precedents set in the past few months, I think PA GOPer's throw this one to the bureaucracy of the scotus to save their a$$es again, because they appreciate a rigged system, much like MD dem legislature, egregious as well!

Even Republicans admit SCOTUS won't bail them out this time. Also, I think I identified Krazen...

Man that Republican is a hack, even most Trumpists I know in real life think the PA scenario is bs, disgusting partisanship, for shame.

Steal seats? You mean gain rightful and fair representation?

If the map gets struck down by the supreme court, what do you guys think of this one I drew? Its very clean, minimizes county splits, and keeps towns whole (except for Philadelphia)

PHILLY

PITTSBURGH

1 (White) D+38 VRA Black district 45% Black 35% White
2 (Green) D+30 VRA Black district 42% black (most whites are republicans in E Philly)
3 (Purple) R+8
4. (Red) R+14
5. (Gold) R+16
6. (Teal) R+2
7. (Gray) D+13
8. (Slate Blue (Bucks Co)) R+2
9. (Cyan) R+22
10. (Pink) R+12
11. (Light Green) R+10
12. (Cornflower Blue (West of Pittsburgh)) R+7
13. (Salmon(MontCo)) D+8
14. (Brown) D+17
15. (Orange) R+3
16. (Lime (Lancaster)) R+8
17. (Dark Gray) R+5
18. (Light Yellow) R+14

Deja Vu all over again... sad how many people put party over the popular will of the people...

Daves Redistricting App. I only get it to work on internet explorer though. It wont work on chrome, and im not sure about firefox

Firefox extended release for me. Faster then IE, and has automatically a higher memory quota.

Not Safari?

I don't know, but I'm scared about that too.

Good on Governor Wolf! Though I hope he tries to work with the PA GOP in a bipartisan manner to get this done instead of tossing it to the court.

something something PA GOP something something bipartisan

Bagel, that's like the definition of an oxymoron.

I just don't want the PA SC DEMS to get thrown out ok? Sad.

Matty will be ok, Lackawanna, the blue part of the Luzerne aka Wilkes Barre, and Monroe will pull him through with nice numbers. I have a feeling he will hit low to mid sixties in Lackawanna.

I'd also really like Dwight Evans to challenge Toomey as well, I think he would do good.

There is a strong case for arguing a Costello and Rothfus DOA, but as for Perry, sorry no. He did better than trump in his old district.

In his old District. Those are key words. As is the phrase, against a sacrificial lamb

Perry is not DOA in a R+6 in a ancestrally redder part of the state that even Obama could mot grasp. Pasquale would have made it competetive, but who the heck else do we have now? I'm not saying that we can't win it, but calling it Perry DOA is trolling yourself just as hard and King Lear would. Democrats need to stop getting so cocky again. Harrisburg Mayor Papenfuse would be a great recruit though.

I doubt PA having at-large voting for 18 seats, will result in 18 Dems, but Dems (unlike Repubs) actually care about having fair maps.

Not really. MD is egregious.

Not really. Andy Harris's district easily could've been gerrymandered into oblivion if the legislature had wanted.

It takes the utmost partisan hack not to think Maryland is not an egregious gerrymander. I guess we can also thank the generous Ohio and PA GOP for at least leaving a couple seats behind in Pittsburgh and Columbus. The MD lines are egregious, and O'Malley and Delaney even admitted that they carved out MD 6. MD is non negotiable as a gerrymander, 7 to 1 representation is completely unfair.
