This is SO hilariously wrong now that most people present identified have been from out of state and at least one has been fired.

This is a pretty good post I saw on the issue...

You can have most rally-goers come from out of state AND lots of racists living in Virginia (who happened not to go to the rally), you know that?

Holy moly boys, we caught a whopper!

All men are equal before God but there are nuances, the most intelligent Asians and the blacks stronger physically etc every ethnicity stands out in something.

It is true and verifiable what I have said, each ethnic group has adapted to the climate and environment differently, yet there is no superiority, some ethnicities lack something but compensate in another.

Just curious, why did we change the honoree from Cora to Marty?

I never stand for the anthem for a variety of reasons one mainly being the countries views on Arabs and Muslims. And guess what, it's perfectly my right as an American to do that. It's not unamerican as the TRIGGERED right claims it is.

I do not see a problem with NFL players kneeling either. It's another false outrage the President and the right have.

Arab Muslims were responsible for 9/11.  And many Arab Muslims in America, at a minimum, have a degree of sympathy for Islamic Jihadists.  Given the hostility these nations have toward Israel, why should it be shocking that American citizens have the attitudes some of them have toward Arab Muslims?  Should it be considered unreasonable that American citizens may have doubts as to whether or not Arab Muslims have the same loyalty to America, right or wrong, that they have?

I'll agree that there's false outrage.  But why shouldn't I question the loyalty to America someone who refuses to stand for the Anthem out of loyalty to their country of origin and a grudge against American citizens who support, say, Trump's immigration ban?  Is America YOUR country?  Or is it just where you live?

That's a real important question because we are NOT a nation bound by "blood and soil" as most nations of the world are.  If we are a nation where significant blocs of its CITIZENS have divided loyalties, let alone a primary loyalty to another nation, ethnic group, religious sect, etc, than what becomes of our experiment in self-government?  How can America function as a nation when one group or another are preoccupied with its ethnic and racial grievances (however justified) to the point where their loyalty to America is conditional?  What one has a right to do or not do is an entirely different question than the question of what attitudes on the part of American citizens are necessary in order for our continuing experiment in self-government and individual liberty to be successful.  When I was young, I thought this unimportant; even authoritarian, but as history has unfolded, I recognize that for America to work, its citizens have to be committed to its success, even over the perceived interest of their own groups of which they consider themselves members of.

I'll just repeat my response in that thread:

WTF? What you said was basically what many Americans believed about Japanese-Americans before the government forced them into internment camps.

Kamala Harris has done more for the justice of million Californians, the most racially diverse state in the country, then Bernie Sanders has done for his sh**tty rural white state. Yet it's the old mediocre white guy that is being shoved down the base throat, when Kamala is a inspiration to many WOC who feel the pain of living in Trump America. Explain to me how the low accomplished senator gets a fair shot at the presidency and not the hard-working GA.

First point sounds like a Russian, devoid of article use in grammar.

Second point is more important. I had a strong intuition that this guy is a troll, but this pretty much confirms it with a high degree of certainty. Would someone from their own state really call it a "sh*tty rural white state"? If he hates, or even dislikes, his state, then why would he personally identify by being a resident of said state?

I feel as if this is a parody of the staunch Clintonite faction of the Democratic party. The best part is when they actually agree with him, like they did with that Eharding sock.

Didn't this guy actually used to be a Republican?

If anyone wants to know why some people are so sensitive about cultural appropriation in the first place, here's a fun article:

Controversial Sushi Chef Out Amid More Racism Allegations

How is that comparable to little girls wearing a Moana costume?

IDK, but examples like these are why we can't have nice things.

So apparently little girls wearing non-white Disney princesses Halloween costumes caused this guy to be racist, or something.

I mean, you apparently completely misunderstood the point I was making, but I'm still honored by the fact that you put my posts in the Landfill.

That's cherry picking. The average Shanghai resident has about the same wealth as the average Italian. Seoul is 1st world. Bangkok is developing. Culture is hard to quantify, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who'd rather live a traditional peasants life (because that's what most of these people were doing 50 years ago) over a homogenized global existence.
This is a real beauty.
Just because you dislike it doesn't make it false.

This is the second time this week where bronz is right in that "both sides are bad."

> Person A unironically thinks Anglo-Saxon culture is superior to all other cultures.
> Person B has a "growth at all costs" mentality and wants the complete Westernization of non-Western cultures.

Obviously Maoism was terrible, but:

Obviously such an evil ideology would come out of China. Russians aren't that stupid.

Meanwhile Santander's Sinophobic rampage continues.

I'm Santander and I approve this message.

When are people going to realize Santander isn't actually a terrible person and just says those kinds of things to incite reactions from people?

I dunno, his hatred of everything Chinese seems pretty legit to me.

You can't be labeled -ist against your own people

Well if you're correct then that'll just be sad. Like sadder than Reaganfan sad. (I always thought Santander was Indian though, is he?)

Xe can be whatever xe wants to be. It’s 2017.

So Santander is secretly Rachel Dolezal?

The plot thickens...

No words aren't violent and this shouldn't even be a debate.... I mean come on 8 year olds know better than these sad pathetic excuses for men in the millennial generation that can't even get girlfriends because of how much of losers and bats males they are. Really I'm embarrassed to call myself a millennial
If you were a child and your parent called you disgusting filth that deserves to die on a regular basis, I doubt you would much care about the distinction between physical and emotional harm.

Exactly. And it's no different when some people say that certain minorities deserve to die on a regular basis.

Plus, there really isn't that many steps between saying "Go back to your country!" to someone and then knocking them senseless.

You're mentally ill. Please for the sake of everyone's safety get help and then go back to the first grade because apparently you haven't learned the expression "sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me"

Dang. Got to give it to him. That's some argument he's got going there.

Can we rename this thread? There's so many from this guy I don't feel like posting them all:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?action=profile;u=10159;sa=showPosts

Of course not, you want to rename it after some fly-by-nighter? Meanwhile Reaganfan has been spewing his crap for 14 years and maintaining the high quantity and quality.

Also the last iteration of this thread (or was it the one before?) was named after him.

(I'm partial to naming the thread after Jeffster though, who's basically Mortimer Jr.)

Famous Mortimer has a long history of horrible posts that includes xenophobic racism, rape apologism, and eugenics (the latter being specifically targeted at individuals with physical and mental disabilities).  The Famous Mortimer Repository of Racism, Rape Apologism, and Reprehensible Posts would be as good a name as any for this thread.

Add homophobia and transphobia to that list:

(All of his posts in that thread deserve a spot here)

Something something wishing for the genocide of an entire people

to reiterate my point.  The poacher is just a dude trying to get a long.  One of the very few ways this dude has to "get a long" is poaching lions in the middle of the night hoping to not get caught by the park rangers (or whatever) or the lions (or any of the other dangerous wildlife out there).  Nobody wants to hunt lions or rhinos at night, he isn't doing it to be an asshole, he's doing it because he feels it's his best choice at getting by.

You want to want someone to die for killing lions, don't celebrate the death of this poor SOB,  hope for a lot east Asians to die.

Crooked loon who supports Black Lives Matter, ‘safe injection sites,’ and illegal immigration.

Ergo FF

Illegal immigration is the reason New Jersey is going to the dogs. Your new sanctuary state policy will price out taxpayers and replace them with illegal welfare recipients. This will send you on a race to the bottom because NJ doesn’t have California’s economy.

Alex was getting too close to the truth. He was right about The Memo. He was right about chemicals in the water turning kids trans. The powers-that-be couldn't have him exposing any more inconvenient truths so they did what they typically do and RoyMoored him.

(Obviously this is directed towards Morty, not YE.)

But seriously, it all makes sense now...

Personal dislike of people migrating to a new country and bringing their prejudices with them.

Immigration should be about looking for a new start, not reviving old hatreds.
"reviving" implies the hatred had left these bigots for a time.  No, they were taught to hate at as toddlers and have never even thought about letting it go.  It's part of who they are, it's part of their culture, it's part of their religion.

That said...

I live in a city where Chinese people were literally relegated to the swamps. My province used and abused them to build our railroads, run our mines, work our farms, catch our fish, and can our foods. Our white business owners took advantage of the desperation that so many Chinese families felt when they came to Canada, paying them considerably less than they'd pay white labourers. Chinese workers were segregated from others in pitiful conditions, made to do hugely dangerous work, and subjected to cavalier racism on the daily.

Our newspapers and magazines featured white people taming Chinese immigrants in traditional garb like pets, as if it was an accomplishment to domesticate these "exotic" subhumans. Our government enacted racist policies that made Chinese immigrants pay exorbitant "head taxes" upon entry to the country. When that didn't work, we banned them outright for over 20 years.

Their traditional clothing has its own meaning divorced from politics, but it's also a symbol of resilience amidst all the bullsh-t they've had to endure. I imagine that it must be a real mark of pride for Chinese people to wear these clothes. This garb once set them apart and made them a target... now it's a way to celebrate who they are, remember what they've been through, and relay the clear message that they are here and they are strong. These pieces of clothing belong to them.

And then for some basic white girl to come along, strip it of its meaning, and wear it to prom like it's just another consumable accessory...? Not cool. I'm not going to say there are hard and fast rules about cultural appropriation, but this clearly was not thoughtful. If she was being thoughtful she would have humbled herself and made a different choice, because there were many others that would have allowed her to avoid even being construed as disprespecting an entire group of people. Instead, she wore it. Because the only thing she was really thinking about was herself.

This (at least the first half) is an excellent post. It's a shame that Asian-American and Asian-Canadian history has been systematically excluded from the educational curriculum.
