Kind of a tabloid story, but this might set an interesting precedent. Essentially, Johansson's pay for Black Widow was based on a percentage of box office receipts, but Disney also released the movie on their streaming service, which diminished ticket sales. Apparently Emma Stone is also considering suing Disney, as they did the same thing with the movie Cruella. Not just that, but because Disney+ was already in development by the time when her contract was being negotiated, her agent saw to it that her contract explicitly stipulated that the movie would see an exclusive theatrical release. It's like Chapek's lawyers didn't even bother to pay attention to Contracts back when they were in 1L. In any event, the Mouse's extremely tone-deaf response isn't likely to do them any favors in court either (presuming, of course, that it even gets that far & that the PR team didn't just immediately get in touch with legal & tell them to shut the f**k up & settle this ASAP).
