Wasn't the DNC supposed to announce the qualified candidates today ?

I think so, yeah. Knowing the DNC, though, they're probably internally panicking about how the hell they're supposed to deal with Bullock without looking bad.

Thought: if Warren throws a few bombs in the first debate, will that define the second debate night and force the other candidates to respond?

I’m pretty sure that if Warren becomes a domestic terrorist and kills or injures the Mayor of NYC, Beto, Tulsi etc. on stage, the other candidates will respond ...

FOX in 2 mins...

BREAKING NEWS! This is FOX News. We're receiving unconfirmed reports at this hour that Elizabeth Warren, the Senator from Massachusetts & Democratic presidential candidate, is currently under federal investigation for conspiracy to commit an act of domestic terrorism at the upcoming Democratic presidential debate in Miami later this month.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to keep up with the second debate in terms of radio apps? During that time I'll be driving from Savannah, GA back to TN and would like to listen but not sure how I'd keep up with it driving through rural GA/TN on just normal radio 😂😂😂 Like will the NBC app have radio coverage?

Sirius/XM Channel 118 is just an audio feed of MSNBC, so if you have that, that'd work.

Alternatively, if you don't have it & don't wanna pay for it, you could just start a free trial right before the debates & cancel before the trial ends.

Some of these podium pictures are a little creepy. One candidate using that for Twitter comedy:

He's an ass in the party but at least he's got a sense of humor lmao

I hope they never do debates like this again. A debate that takes place in two different sessions is actually useless, the threshold should have been higher.

It's too far out to have anything that is too restrictive. I think the current plan works for the Summer, before then upping the standards in the Fall.
It is not a good setup if the major candidates physically can not all debate each other because it is oh so important that we include the 20 nobodies polling at 1%. It was supposed to be more fair, but it isn't very helpful to the voters if the real contenders can't directly debate.

I'm certainly not a fan of the debate format as it's currently being held either, but this is a pretty invalid argument considering that the first of multiple much-more-restrictive debates is going to be held 4 & a 1/2 months before the first vote is even cast.

They announced the podium placement for both nights:

Night One:
de Balsio - Ryan - Castro - Booker - Warren - O'Rourke - Klobuchar - Gabbard - Inslee - Delaney

Night Two:
Williamson - Hickenlooper - Yang - Buttigieg - Biden - Sanders - Harris - Gillibrand - Bennet - Swalwell

Source

Pretty cramped stage. Thank God Abrams isn't running. I don't think they could fit in both of her podiums.

You guys do realize that pretty much every Democrat on this site has referred to Trump as the "Cheeto-in-Chief," the "Tangerine Tornado," or some variant of this theme, right? Remember when everyone called Ted Cruz "Grandpa Munster?" Making fun of a politician's appearance is obviously not the best refutation of their platform, but don't dish it out if you can't take it, for God's sake. You just come across looking like hypocrites.

And for the record:

Trump really does look like a tangerine.
Cruz looks like Kevin from The Office.
AOC has crazy eyes.
Michelle Bachmann has crazier eyes.
Ben Carson always looks half-asleep.
Stacy Abrams is fat.
Chris Christie could've won "Largest Candidate" at the Iowa livestock caucus if he'd entered.
Bernie Sanders has never used a comb in his life.
Hillary Clinton dresses like an authoritarian leader from some Young Adult movie.
Pete Buttigieg looks like Alfred E Newman.
Jeff Sessions looks like a Keebler elf.
I am all for creating fun names, but fat jokes are old af.

Ding dong your opinion is wrong

Ding dong opinions literally can't be wrong unless they're going against proven facts. That's kinda the whole meaning of opinions.

Stacy Abrams is so poor that when she heard about the Last Supper in church, she thought Trump cut off the food stamps!

OK not gonna lie, while I thought the other one was a bit crass, I lol'd at this one.

I can't wait for ARE President to utterly tool the Democrats via live tweet. I'm holding two watch parties for my pals here in NYC, most of whom hate The Don, so it'll be amusing to watch them whine.

I don't think an online Drudge poll is a reliable indicator for a Democratic debate but ok lol

Kamala: *exists*
Atlas: OMG WHY DID SHE DO THAT!?! TRUMP WILL DESTROY HER!
I mean, he will, so.....?
Mr 38% isn’t destroying anyone
Yeah, just ask President Clinton.
Losing the popular vote by 3 million is “destroying”? In what universe?

Hate to agree with Sanchez here, but the universe in which not 3 million but 77,774 votes decided the election.

EDIT: Though I don't think Trump will destroy Kamala lol

de Blasio didn't lose night one. He didn't win (not by a long shot), but he didn't lose either.

He came off as an angry, Marxist jerk with a penchant for interruption.

This is because 95% of the people who supported Biden going into the debate are still in his camp, whereas anybody who was gonna be most incensed by Harris' attacks on Biden (mostly young people & progressives) already didn't support Biden.
