Quote
A heavily armed woman who gunned down three children and three staff members at a Nashville school on Monday appears to be a former student of the private Christian campus, police said.

“At one point she was a student at that school,” Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake told reporters hours after the shooting at The Covenant School. “But unsure what year ... but that’s what I’ve been told so far.”

The shooter was identified as Audrey Hale, a Nashville resident, three law enforcement officials briefed on the matter told NBC News.

There were no answers on Monday afternoon at multiple phone numbers listed for Hale’s mother and brother.

According to police, the shooter was armed with two “assault-style rifles and a handgun” when she was confronted by five officers. Two of those opened fire and killed her, police said.

A car near the shooting scene helped police determine who the shooter was.

“There was a vehicle that was nearby that gave us clues as to who she was,” Drake said.

Investigators were combing through the shooter’s home, he said.

Police tactical units were spotted using a grenade-like device to get inside the house, which is listed as the shooter's residence.

"This is a great family and it's a tragedy," a neighbor said.

Investigators are also looking into how the shooter got into the school. Doors are usually locked on the campus, officials said.

“How exactly she got in, at this point, is still under investigation,” Drake said.

The chief praised his officers for taking on the shooter immediately.

“It could have been far, far worse,” Drake said.

The local authorities did confirm that the shooter was transgender and that they're investigating whether the church and school's views on sexuality and gender identity motivated the attack.

Let's avoid this becoming a flame war on transgender issues.

I saw them confirm the name and that Hale was a former student, but can you link the source on them confirming that the shooter was indeed trans?

That said, there’s no indication that the shooter’s gender identity motivated the shooting at all. The manifesto hasn’t been released yet.

I'm looking for a more reputable source than "Breaking911".

Edit: found one myself

...

And just like that, right-wingers will believe it when someone says they are trans.

Obviously the shooting is reprehensible, and the shooter being trans doesn't change that. If there's a hell, they're burning there.

The overwhelming majority of shooters are cis men. The problem remains guns.
(1) Genetic fallacy. The tweet contains a video of the police press conference.
(2) Mongoose, Dule, Horus are hardly right-wingers.
(3) If bad actors are going to have guns regardless, women and LGBT individuals should exercise their first amendment rights.

I don’t support banning abortions without fundamental government support for families who choose to keep their babies, which is something the Republican Party is not keen on.
So you support banning abortion with government support? What the hell is wrong with you?

Same goes for Guns right ? My Guns. My Choice. My Body. My Choice.

But it doesn't and shouldn't  work that way. We live in such a hyper individualized culture that we have forgotten our bonds as human beings.

For example, look at abortion. Abortion is never autonomous. No one makes a decision to abort freely; there's always societal pressures. Economic Pressures.

So the Government should be there to support a family if they choose to keep their baby. That will make Republicans in the US super angry; because they're so capitalist and anti Government. That they literally wont help families and mothers thrive. That isn't pro life, it's pro forced birth.

Like wise, America worships our gun rights. Perhaps we shouldn't it ? Is it worth it to worship a right so much that it allows the most fundamental right to be taken away by a weapon of war ? Come on people, think about this fora moment. Think about it. We are too hyper individualistic, that we only see things in the lens of individualism. I find it to be such a cancer on our society. It takes a village to build a foundation.

Look at what has happened folks with this gun shooting. This is the result of our hyper individualistic thinking which I think is such a Cancer on our society; that we have to resort to Guns to solve our issues, external, and personal.
I am pro gun and pro abortion. I support liberty.

You can pry my guns from my cold dead hands you fascist pig.

I would rather have my right to life; than to worship the false God of Hyper individualism.

You do not have the right to tell a woman that she can’t excise a cancer growing in her body that you happen to call a child.
