You seem to be happy that he's not running for reelection.

Honestly, I don't really care that much. I don't live in the state and things won't be much different since Baker pretty much just governs like a generic D (mostly because the Democrats hold veto-proof majorities in both chambers of the General Court). However, the flip will be nice as it will help blunt our losses in other gubernatorial races next year.

Because your beliefs cannot be sincerely held if they just so happen to align with one particular party. You are only sincere if you believe in nebulous things like bipartisanship and centrism, obviously.
