It’s probably just going to be a short bump for everyone... especially with the impending global recession.

I mean seriously, Conte is at 70% job approval, Macron is above 50%. This Trump popularity rise is quite low.

We have a uniquely asinine system that can allow Trump to be re-elected with a relatively paltry approval rating though.

Are we sure though? Most polls have him underperforming his approval rating in match ups against Biden.

Well the good news is that it seems his approval regarding the coronavirus has peaked.

PPP isn't a good pollster and is the only pollster showing Trump approval stagnant or declining with coronavirus, other pollsters have him going up

Meh. All the polls showed Hillary winning too.
Wouldn't that imply that polls are further underestimating Trump, though?

Almost every poll we've seen has shown Trump underperforming his approval rating in his matchups against Biden. This election is a referendum on Trump. 2016 was on the establishment.

New Fox Poll has it at 48/51%... virtually unchanged from their last poll.

Trump gets a 51/46% approval on Coronavirus... a lot lower compared to approval for state govt. (74%), Dr. Fauci (77%) and the Federal Government (55%).

Rally-around-the-flag might be fading. Same pollster had it 48/48 a few days ago.

Shockingly low levels of economic pessimism considering what's happening with the market and jobless claims, especially since it was conducted less than a week ago. Who are the 45% of American who don't think (or are even undecided) that the economy is on the wrong track? Huh

We're in highly partisan times. Expect at least 35-40% of the country to stand by Trump... and even ignore their financial hardships in the process.

I'm a little annoyed that PPP didn't poll the presidential race.

In the California poll?  It's Biden 67, Trump 29; I included it in the post.

Pennsylvania.

How is his approval rating even when he's -20 with independents?

It's a shame Bernie had to drop out, considering all the polls that had him doing better than Biden against Trump.

Lol what?

Quinnipiac: April 2-6, 2077 RV (1-month change)

Approve 45 (+4)
Disapprove 51 (-3)

This is Trump's best-ever showing in this poll.

On coronavirus handling: 46/51

2020: Biden 49, Trump 41 (Biden led 52-41 in last poll)

Trump's approval rating on the economy is cracking. It stands at 51-44% (+7) here. It was 54-42% (+12) last month and it was 57-38% (+19) in January.

Trump is not gonna win, regardless if it's a 413 election or a 278 election,  Trump is doomed and will take McConnell or the R senate with him. Regardless of McConnell loses, but Amy McGrath and Doug Jones stands a chance in this environment.  Bush W only won reelection due to Katrina, another national disaster took place in 2005, not 2004🤩🤩🤩

I am impressed by Trump's ability to constantly squander any ounce of momentum he ever seems to pick up in popularity.

That's a Republican pollster so I'd wager her real approval is at least 60%.

That's because they expect 2020 to be a 2016 redux: Trump behind in the polls only to come up from behind and pull off a shocking win. Everyone expected Jeremy Corbyn to do the same in the UK because of what happened in 2017 and he got crushed instead.

Climate Nexus, April 19, 1917 RV

Trump approval:

Approve 45
Disapprove 52

Strongly approve 26
Strongly disapprove 40

2020: Biden 49, Trump 40

GCB: D 50, R 40

Once again, he's underperforming his approval rating.

Horrific #s for Trump.

NPR/Marist, among Registered Voters

Do you approve or disapprove of Trump’s handling of the virus: 42% approve, 57% disapprove
Who would you rather have handling the pandemic: Biden 56%, Trump 40%
Who would you rather have handling the economy: Biden 51%, Trump 44%

http://maristpoll.marist.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/NPR_PBS-NewsHour_Marist-Poll_USA-NOS-and-Tables_202004280852.pdf#page=3

If even a plurality of voters trust Biden with the economy on election night, Trump will get destroyed.

Gallup, April 14-28, 1500 adults (2-week change)

Approve 49 (+6)
Disapprove 47 (-7)

Gallup has had wild swings lately.  Last few polls:

4/28: 49/47
4/14: 43/54
3/22: 49/45
3/13: 44/52
2/28: 47/51

These swings are getting embarrassing.

The RCP average for Trump's approval rating on his handling of COVID-19 has his net approval declining at a pretty rapid pace.

It now stands at -10.9, compared to -3 last month. The latest ABC poll hasn't been entered yet.

This forum would make you believe Trump's approval rating would be 21%.

It honestly should be. He's an objectively terrible president, but the Republican Party is 100% behind him.

Rip it up, stomp on it, douse it in gasoline, light it on fire, and then take the ashes and dump them into the pacific ocean.
