Bernie dwarfed Hillary in crowd sizes and he still got blown out in the primary.

While he did get blown out, he still gave the anointed Hillary Clinton a major run for her money.

Reps. Sylvia Garcia and Sheila Lee Jackson were at Harris's rally.

Harris county commissioner Rodney Ellis made an official endorsement of her today.

Fire marshals estimate 3K at Harris's Atlanta rally today, up from the 2.4K she had in Houston yesterday. Obviously crowd sizes are not good indicators of election outcomes, but this surely shows that her base is fired up and she has the potential to snatch the nomination and become #46.

You're almost as annoying as the Bernie supporters with this nonsense. Please stop.

I'm flattered! But this is the Kamala Harris 2020 general campaign megathread, and here we talk all things Kamala. You don't have to participate Smiley

Her rallies are as big as Jerry Brown's were during the 1992 campaign

Kamala's policy proposals have been pretty solid so far. First the LIFT act and now this.

But she's just the identity politics candidate.

If you read through the teacher proposal, it too is littered with identity politics giveaways.

That's fantastic!

Not really for a Senator from California who was among the first to kick off her campaign. Half of what Obama raised Q1 12 years ago.

This is probably one of the worst takes I've seen all week.

Wow, Harris had really crappy fundraising. A national figure and senator from CA, a frontrunner and one of the first to kickstart a campaign, and she only managed to raise 1.5x the amount of Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
She's not a "national figure" at all. Wow, you guys are a bunch of haters.

Watch him go gaga over Warren likely raising less than her.

Its a bad fundraising number, its rather plain to see. When you're fundraising numbers are comparable to the Mayor of South Bend, then you arent doing well. There isnt any excuse for this kinda monetary performance.

...She raised $5 million more than Pete... literally nobody but you is comparing the two or thinks the fundraising number is bad. Kamala Derangement Syndrome is very real.

Right, I forgot, fundraising exists in a vacuum and should never be compared to each other Roll Eyes

When a candidate considered one of the frontrunners, one of the big 3, from CA, is raising 12$ million while the mayor of South Bend who has only recently recived a bump in the polls is raising 7$ million, you havent done a good job fundraising. Its not KDS, its rather simple arithmetic Wink

There is simply no logic in that statement. No matter what she does, you're going to find bad things about it through your mental gymnastics. It's quite unimpressive.

Not sure why people are pushing that Kamala is a national figure. Yes, is she one of the better known national dems? Sure, but still not a lot. Just look at all of the polls going on -- even her score of "Don't Know" is still pretty high among even DEMOCRATS, let alone all voters.

Her candidacy and supposed popularity is more of a media creation than anything else.  Besides being an identity politics candidate from the most "coastal elitist" city in the country (besides NYC of course), what does she have to offer as a future President?

Is anyone who’s not a white male going to be referred to as an identity politics candidate? Are non-white, non-male candidates not supposed to speak about how their experience as a part of a historically marginalized community has shaped their perspectives on issues?

Another case from Kamala's past coming back to haunt her. This would hurt more in a GE more than anything.

Uhh no it wouldn't. It just proves her consistency on the death penalty.

Harris isnt running with Sanders due to fact, he wont endorse Crt packing

She doesn't add much to the ticket as VP.

LOL

It depends on who the nominee is. If it's Sanders, it adds minority appeal.

Exactly, it's donors first/voters second with this campaign

This doesn't even make sense? Should people not donate to her campaign if they'd like?

It's no use reasoning with Kamala haters. They're absolutely delusional and hungry negative press.

People should care, after the disaster that was Hillary 2016 the idea that she can hire her people, cater to her donors is very repugnant. All we will get here is talk about social issues most swing voters don't care about but the people in NY and SF obsess over hourly.

It’s  so sad your hatred of her clouds your logic. She has proposed teacher raises, the LIFT act, rent relief, has talked about climate change and has been putting labor unions at the center of her campaign as shown in her speech to Cali laborers.

Kamala Harris is not ready for prime time

Based on what, exactly? God you people are insufferable. She and Warren were the only ones laying out specific policy plans last night and apparently she's not ready for primetime. Lemme guess, you think boy wonder Pete is?

She's already walking back the felon voting thing, now she's a firm no after wanting to have a 'conversation'. This is the second walk back the first one was the private insurance thing in her first townhall. From what I gather so far she just doesn't seem quick on her feet and really doesn't take firm positions on things until she can get cues from her staff on which way to go. Not really impressed with her political skills so far.

I mean, we could be talking about the glaring problems with Biden, Beto, and Buttigieg and their lack of policy proposal, but we can continue picking apart Harris's tiny flaws with tweezers Smiley

We could talk about the fact that Kamala is actually listing her specific beliefs and proposals while Petey is just winging it.

It doesn't matter, she needs to come close in an early primary state, like NV or SC and now Bernie is kneck and kneck with Biden in SC and NV

South Carolina would be ground territory to start fleshing her challengers away. Just mentioned Bernie tone-deaf racial comments or Biden's past bill votes and she'll start to gain ground with the constituency that will put our nominee against Trump.

This will come. People are still acting like the votes are cast tomorrow.

Harris had been polling 5% ever since the Biden surge.  So, its not like she has been close since, she was the frontrunner in March, in these poll.

Bernie has been in second in most of these polls and had a bump before Biden made the announcement.

Californians are looking at other candidates. The only superdelegate to go out of his way to support Harris was Newsom. Rendell is supporting Biden

Take a wild guess where Trump and Bernie were polling at this time in 2015.
