The good thing about all these parties being Jacobin crap outfits, I have no favourites (not even the arguably least Jacobin of them all)! Smiley

Maybe you should do a French regionalist political parties survivor ? Grin

No, the UMP is not at all monolithic. At the head, of course, but with its "associate" parties, and with more wings that you should think, it's an interesting party.

(If, by miracle, the Greens are out now, I'll vote UMP next round, no question about it)

It is the top 4, because Parti Radical is still here.

Frankly, it is really disappointing: my top 3 were PS, PCF, Parti Radical, in that order.
Those parties are, by far, the most interesting:
PR by its fantastic history and its so loose organization
PCF because that's how parties should be organized (Wink) and, well, it's so much historical (and even historic sometimes)
PS because that's how wings, how parochial system are the finest.

TBH, I'd hesitated between PS and PCF for the top, with a slight preference for the PS.

But, now, with those so-called "green" libertarians (Waechter is a real ecologist) likely to win, well, I'm sad. Of course, it's a bit less ridiculous than Piraten in Germany, but not much less.

Anyway, my vote pour mémoire:
Greens

even if I should vote for the PS in order to make PCF win...

Calling Greens 'libertarians' is a bit too much given how restrictive they can be on some issues, socially libertarians at best.

I'm far to be a fan of them, especially of their capacity to mess them up and of some of their knee-jerking, and their lycéen style, but well, at least that are the only ones who don't live in XXth century schemes which might be useful in politics which is about managing the present.

Social libertarians, of course, you're right.
That's enough said for me ! Wink
But, here, I first wanted to oust what is NOT a party despite attempts by people like Jean-Vincent Placé or Yves Contassot to make it as "awful" as the big ones Wink !

I hate Placé and Contassot and Baupin, let me be clear.
I just say (without judging) that they are more "classical" politicians, with all the maneuvers and the shenanigans, that's all.
Mamère is also a "green khmer", not because he is an"organizer" but because of his zero tolerance and because of the fact he is infatuated of himself.

Voynet, Cochet, and all those around Waechter, at the time (Buchmann), were all "truer", at least a bit, in their inability to organize and in the fact they always make (or made in the case of Voynet...) their views prevail on their career.

Duflot, for the moment, can't be put in one category, but I think she is on a bad path.

So, make no mistake, I don't want the Greens to be controlled by Placé. I just say that their internal fights are more and more "classical" and less an dless ideological: they are normalizing themselves, but that's very slow.

And in this survivor, I want to vote for parties, real parties, not for "movements". Everyone has his criterias Wink.

That would be so funny: the PS losing despite one vote from the French rightist Cheesy

ps is party of mitterand and should have gone first.

Of course, I don't like the PS (and Mitterrand; and I hate Aubry) (since 1990 and the Yugoslav wars to be precise; before, I was "rocardien" Wink).

But what I'm interested in here is all the shenanigans and internal fights, all those wings:
Rocard, Chevènement, Mauroy, Poperen
Fabius vs Jospin
"transcourants"
Emmanuelli
DSK vs Fabius vs Aubry vs Royal vs Hollande
fights among DSK and Fabius lieutenants
local "barons"
etc, etc, etc

So fascinating...

But, well, the Radical Party is also very, very interesting.

I rarely see my favourite winning...
And then,  when it's the case, I'm unhappy...
Sigh

I still think your true favorite was the Parti Radical. Wink

As I've said, it's really difficult. Historically, PCF is the best one, with Radical just after it.
But since 1971, PS is really very fine because of its internal fightings.
Anyway, please note I've REALLY voted for the PS.
