LA for several reasons, assuming it is not more than 2.5 times more expensive than Minneapolis.

1.  Climate.  I'd rather live in a warmer area.

2.  I prefer cities.

LA is about 1.3 times as expensive overall as compared to the Twin City metro area. It is only housing costs that are way up there. Other stuff is quite cheap often, since among other things,  the place is crawling with hard working Hispanics - legal and illegal. Plus the mild climate keeps costs associated with cold down, such as heating costs, snow removal and the like.

Since I have a house in LA (Beverly Hills), and will probably move back soon, LA. Smiley

You don't like living in our little town so much?  Too bored?  I understand. Smiley

It's mainly because I want to start working again to support myself, and maybe even a family if I'm lucky enough.  Smiley  The scene down here is too slow for the things I want to accomplish.

Well, you will be neighbors with my nephew perhaps. He has decamped to my aunt's Beverly Hills mansion for the moment (Charlie Chaplin's old pad, or one of them, and my aunt claims she sees Charlie's ghost while swimming in the pool - ya, she is a drama queen). The amenities are considerably better than the place I bought, which is in the white heat now of re-construction, particularly since the gas is off for various reasons at the moment, so there is no hot water. There is also a full time staff of 3, while my "staff" is merely appended as it were, and that's it!  He may never return. Tongue

Good luck with your family plans, Ronnie. You only live once.  Go for it - do it, just do it.  Pity that I am an "old," and that boat has left the dock with me not on it.
