One of the vilest and most bigoted individuals to have ever served in the United States Congress. He was a racist, a sexist, and a homophobe, all wrapped up in one. From opposing legislation to fight AIDS, to obstructing civil rights measures, he could be counted on as an obstructionist and a demagogue.
