Just exactly what are people cheering for here?
Are they cheering for not spending the money on a wall? Or are they cheering for open borders, and ignoring our current immigration laws?
I tend to believe the latter. Those who say "GOOD!" need to state what policies they DO advocate to prevent persons from illegally entering our borders. After all, they don't approve of illegal immigration . . . or do they?
Exactly the argument I would make. We cannot have a completely open border, allowing for anybody to come in as they wish. That would be illogical, and would be an invitation to future individuals who may seek to violate our laws. I've made clear before that I support a comprehensive immigration reform bill, one that includes the grant of amnesty to DACA recipients, but also expands the number of immigration judges, enhances our border security, cuts down on chain migration, and imposes harsh penalties for the use of illegal immigrant labor. None of the posters on here have presented an alternative to what the Trump Administration has proposed.
