NewsChannel 4: N.J. Governor McGreevey To Resign

POSTED: 2:42 pm EDT August 12, 2004
UPDATED: 2:46 pm EDT August 12, 2004

NEW YORK -- NewsChannel 4 has learned that  is planning on steping down from office after more than 2 years of service.

McGreevey, a former prosecutor, came into office vowing to end corruption, but in recent months, a number of his political aides and fundraisers have been accused of corruption ranging from alleged payoffs to hiring a prostitute.

McGreevey has not been accused of any wrongdoing, and has denied any wrongdoing in the past.

Should McGreevey indeed leave office, his successor, under the state constitution, would be Richard Codey, the current president of the state senate.

-------------------------------------

The talk is that he will resign the day after the election because a special election could be held this Nov. 2nd.  And I heard this has to do with  homosexual sexual harassment. Jim is gay.

EDIT: Golan Cipel, Jim's lover and former advisor, was going to extort money from him-- over the sexual misconduct and his "gay-ness" I guess.

The people of NJ have got to stop voting for pieces of sh!t and they have to demand a special election and Jim's immediate resignation. That state needs an enema.

Why should they demand an immediate resignation?
McGreevey didn't have to resign...he didn't break any laws.

He misused funds for his unqualified lover and risked the state's homeland security. He used tax dollars to pay for his bimbo and, worse, gave his bimbo an important job-- especially in a terrorist mecca like NJ.

Bret Schundler  thinks the Democrats put Cipel up to filing the lawsuit to get McGreevy out of the way.

The media has let him get away with making this a referendum on being gay, rather than on his failure to carry out his duties responsibly.
