In Allegheny County, about 7000 voters have changed their registrations.  About 5K plus went from another/no party to Democrat.  About 1200 went to Republican and the rest to other or independent.   A paultry number considering there's about 1 Million voters, but it was newsworthy apparently so this must be something not seen before.

Oh, and the Hillary people were at the coffee shop this morning registering voters.  They asked me and I told them I'm registered and voting for Obama (not true but the look on their face was priceless)

"The Barack Barrage has begun" - Obama ad blitz - http://www.philly.com/inquirer/home_top_stories/20080322_Obama_begins_ad_blitz_in_Philadelphia.html

...and I've been seeing a lot of it, too.

By the way, the deadline to file voter registration for the primary is today, March 24th.

The envelope needs a postmark by the 24th, it doesn't need to reach the county seat by then.

Well, you should have it in by tomorrow to be safe but your information is certainly helpful. Are you sure about that though?

Yes, according to the Allegheny County elections manager.

I'm not a big television watcher but I listen to radio.......I've heard Obama ads frequently in Pittsburgh on the radio but no Hillary ones so far.

The gist of the ads is - Obama doesn't take PAC money or cater to special interests/lobbyists etc......no policy type ads

Senator Bob Casey is endorsing Obama this morning.

Interesting. When certain... events... of sixteen years ago are considered it's not really surprising though. But interesting all the same. Will also be interesting to see if this reduces the margins in certain parts of the state.

Governor Bugsy will not be happy about this.  No Casey-Clinton love loss though, you're right.

Rep.  Jason Altmire (the scum who defeated Melissa Hart) and the Service Employees International Union here in PA have also endorsed the Big O.

I know we have a separate polling section, but for anyone who doesn't view it often.....Clinton is only up by 5 points on the Big O in PA

I just listened to an interview with the Beast......she was in a burb of Pitsburgh...when asked about the poll numbers and her lead shrinking she proudly stated:  "I don't pay attention to the polls"!    Roll Eyes

Truth is obviously not a word in the Clinton dictionary.

J. J.'s First Rule.  Smiley

She did qualify it by saying that they were a "snapshot."

I thought your first rule was - rewrite the rules in the middle of the game?

Oh boy, the Big O is really in trouble now.  Bob Casey is doing radio ads for him here in western PA......and probably out east too.

That's is........Hillary will be the nominee for sure now.  Wink

Is the "powerhouse" part sarcasm, for those of us who don't know Pennsylvania? Wink

No. Wagner is pretty strong out there.

Onorato is going to find out how strong when it's time to start announcing plans to run for Governor.

Haha, yeah. That'll be fun to watch.

Another Democratic blood-letting would make you happy Wink   This might make Clinton-Obama seem like they're playing nice-nice.  God I love politics.

OOPS for Hillary.

The offended voter in her ad isn't a PA voter.

at the last possible moment.

Interesting.....I think it's going to be an early call, but it's the how much does she win by that's going to take all night.

Except for FOX, no one has called any race at close unless the exit polls showed more than a fifteen-point spread. Even FOX has waited for a while to call ten-point spreads.

I though MSNBC called NY for Hillary within 30 seconds?  No?

I sincerely doubt that it's called immediately.  Who knows, however...

No, Sam, not immediately, but I'm going to guess within 30 minutes the initial call will be made, FWIW though.  The final percentages are what's going to count anyway.

I think 70% in Phila could spell a problem in PA-1.

But I think it's doable....agree?
