So, the Walmart that I work at had a mass shooting scare today while I was at work. They issued a code brown frantically over the intercom then everyone was screaming to run. I dropped what I was doing and fled the building, telling customers who were confused and scared to just get the hell out of the store. We ran out into the parking lot. The police arrived even before the evacuation began. Two young white men were in handcuffs sitting on the curb outside the store surrounded by cops.

Apparently, those two men came into the store with large guns and were acting suspicious as they tried to by ammo. Considering our store had recently received a shooting threat by two young men, this was very suspicious. Somebody reported them and the police came immediately. The two men were let free and their guns returned to them at the end of the ordeal; supposedly, they were just in the store to buy ammunition since they were going to a nearby gun range.

Regardless of that, as far as I knew at that moment, I was running for my life out of that store. I directed others out, saw parents clutching their children crying and running, people on their phones about to break down. It was a horrifying scene.

Afterward, I had to return to work and business resumed as usual like nothing even happened. The store was quickly packed with people again. I had to just do my job like it's another day. I feel so unsettled.

I can no longer call myself an Atheist as of a week ago. I finally had a spiritual awakening - one I never believed I would experience. It has proved to be very positive for me so far and I have been making real improvements in my mental state since then. It has also enabled me to put certain things into a better context, such as politics. I am now trying to be less dogmatic and negative in my thoughts and approach.

No, I haven't become a Christian or Muslim. I absolutely do not believe in any kind of Abrahamic god. I don't find the concept of god important whatsoever. My beliefs are inspired by research into quantum mechanics, consciousness studies, past life regression therapy, and Buddhism. It's a work in progress, but I certainly feel very positive about it.

The past month of my life has been pure hell. My car decided to completely break down due to an expensive problem that isn't worth investing into it just the night before my fiancee and me were moving to Wisconsin. We had the apartmented lease signed, power turned on, and my transfer approved. Since then, I have been forced to move in with my sister and her fiancee (who are both unstable), lost my job, found out my income tax returns will be delayed (it took them a month to send me a letter about that) so I am now broke, my mom's boyfriend (who's severely immunocompromised) is in quarantine because the hospital he went to for a dentist visit just confirmed several Covid-19 cases so they had to both be tested at their apartment last night, my fiancee has been sick for a week and it has turned into possible pneumonia and severe dehydration so the RN at the minute clinic sent her immediately to the hospital, and now I am getting to spend the primary election day for my state in a hospital with them asking about her possibly having exposure to Covid-19 (my mom's bf was exposed after she got sick).

2020 sucks.

Anyway, please send some positive thoughts/vibes/prayers her way. We'd really appreciate it!

My fiancee has pneumonia. Thankfully, the hospital is releasing her soon with some medicine. It could've been worse, so I am definitely grateful.

Pneumonia's no joke, glad to hear she's healthy enough to go home!

Thank you! I know pneumonia's no joke. When they were expressing serious concern about her SP02 levels and low blood pressure (84/54), I felt so bad that I didn't make her go to the doctor sooner. But, all should be good now that she's on antibiotics and getting better.

Same. I'm not feeling too optimistic about my candidate right now, but I voted for him anyway.

Well, my sister and her fiancee have just found out that they're pregnant and are completely unprepared.

While everyone is complaining about the quarantine, I honestly don't find it to be that much as the end of the world (even if I, as everyone, find it extremely annoying).

I guess being a long time poster in uselectionatlas DOT org SLASH forum has unironically prepared me for this, as depressing as it sounds

Tfw what everyone else calls quarantine is just an ordinary day for you.

It’s always a sad day when a friendship of many years comes to a confrontational end. But, I’m proud of myself for finally standing up for myself.

I have secured a pretty good job that pays quite well and am now working on the logistics of relocating for the position, which is in the Burlington area of Vermont.

I officially moved to Washington Island, Wisconsin. My fiancée and me will now get  to help Biden/Harris and other Dems win a swing state.

Interesting. I read some time ago you were thinking about Burlington also. Why Washington Island?

It’s where my partner is originally from. Her mom owns a store there and offered us work, so couldn’t turn down the opportunity.
