Much of the American Southwest, yes. Polk's greatest folly. I would favor using NAFTA to arrange some sort of North American trade wherein we cede the SW to Mexico in exchange for somehow acquiring British Columbia.

I think I'd prefer the acquisition of the Canadian Maritimes
