Say what you will about AOC, but she’s very good at manipulating the media (especially social media) to get disproportionate attention/buzz w/o actually doing anything.
Btw I don’t mean that as an insult; it’s an extremely useful skill for a politician to have and part of what separates her from her legion of imitators. She has a better understanding of how to use social media to self-promote than arguably any other Democratic politician currently in office. She has a very intuitive talent for figuring out what silly crap will go viral and that’s a lot harder than it sounds. In another life, AOC could’ve been a top advertising or PR firm executive.
