If Kefauver wins, will he go back to being a Populist?

That largely depends on how well Eisenhower does. From a pragmatic standpoint, it makes more sense for him to govern as a Populist, since he'll need their support to pass his agenda, but if Ike proves more popular with the base he might not be welcomed back into the fold.

Given that Ike is in third, it's hard to imagine he was too popular with the base Tongue
