Hegar is a pretty strong candidate and she probably would have the right message against Cornyn so Castro being out isn't a big deal.

I think Hegar has a compelling message and will be able to effectively portray Cornyn as a tired DC insider, she lost because she was triaged and even so did very well for a previously safe Relublican district.

Hegar seems preferable, people seem to be understating her since she is quite a strong candidate.

Atlas only realized McBath was a good candidate like a week before the 2018 midterms, it's entirely possible someone they're dismissing now will end up performing well and winning.

Cornyn is lying about opposing Trump taking money from the border wall from what the military was supposed to get. He voted against blocking the emergency declaration, and said in February 2019 “I believe border security is part of national security. So I support the efforts to accomplish that secure border, .. The president’s left with a bad hand and has to play the best hand he can.”

Cornyn seems to be flailing lately. If there was ever Biden-Cornyn support though maybe it is already banked. Hoping for an upset in this race.
