I've noticed some people unironically backing him.  If you think a guy that has been referred to as a megalomaniac control freak would be a good President you're just making dumb choices.

Not to mention, you would be voting against the first black VP who could truly take office in early 2021. Unlike Kanye and co.

Why is this obvious joke from a joke "candidate" any serious attention? Even if he tries to run, he will go nowhere. Let alone obstacles to get on the ballot in a significant number of states, especially within a very short period of time.

It's getting serious attention from folks who think any independent candidate that joins the race who is <50 and/or non-white means Trump automatically wins re-election.

I don't know what it says about them, their faith in Biden coalescing both demographics or their awareness of Kanye West in the last decade

This could have been avoided, if Bernie or Warren or Booker would have been the nominees.

Of course a third party candidate was open to coming into the race and Michael Moore said this to mess up Biden's chances in MI, PA and WI since the Dems didn't have a real primary

I hope this is put to rest, but I am still worried about the potential of him attempting a write-in campaign.

The people voting for Kanye West weren't going to vote for Biden in the first place.

I don't know why people on Atlas keeps running around like chickens without heads.

I'm still very unsure, to a frustrating degree, whether Kanye is serious or not about running but I am sure that his potential voters would be more likely to support Biden than Trump. I expect that would-be Kanye voters would be those who dislike Trump but don't understand that voting for Biden is the only way to prevent him from getting a second term. They're likely to be disillusioned, less-informed, and younger voters who would be perfectly content with wasting their vote and writing Kanye West in just because he put it out there that he may or may not be competing for the presidency. Maybe they wouldn't be enough to shift the election Trump's way, but it's a variable that I would rather not be present throughout the general election.

I'd take this take more seriously (However serious this ad campaign is), had 2018 CNN & YouGov polls didn't show Kanye having strong unfavorables with people under 40. He polls fairly well with Republican/Trump voters but not even the non-college white numbers look great for him.

But I know the narrative now is "Kanye will do great with young people dumb enough to vote for him because young people are dumb", so I guess I'll let it slide

Honestly, at this point, the whole discussion around this story seems less of a board-wide freakout and more of another chance for folks to yell about how stupid young people are for even considering the option to vote for him (Which is still anecdotal evidence, at best)
